Kontiki by Cotton Mather is a great rock record that doesn't get the props it should, I feel. It absolutely cooks.

Congrats on the 2K, my friend 🎉

Hi Craig, great video!  Here's a little trivia you may or may not already know: You've got a semi-rare copy of Blood on the Tracks. 95% or more pressings of this album have a back cover that is mostly taken up with liner notes, whereas yours has none, but instead a painting that takes up almost the whole back cover.  (There is also a piece of artwork on the liner-note-laden back cover, but it's entirely different artwork and it's also much smaller, to make room for those long liner notes). In the US, it's only the second pressing of Blood on the Tracks that has no liner notes and this big painting on the back cover. The story is that Dylan decided he didn't like the liner notes after the cover had already been printed, supposedly finding them "wimpy." So he asked Columbia to remove them from future pressings, and they did just that for the second pressing. But between the second and third pressings of the albums, those wimpy liner notes actually won a Grammy. So Columbia restored them on all further pressings. (One difference though is that they printed the liner notes in white from that third pressing on. The liner notes been done in black on the first pressing, but they were sort of hard to read in black against the dark red background, so the white text on later pressings made for greater contrast and earlier reading.)  According to discogs, there was a 1977 pressing in Canada that had the liner-note-free back cover. That's a lot later than when that back cover came out in the U.S. (where it was used only on the second pressing, probably done in the second half of 1975); no idea why it came to Canada two years later.

You hit the 2.0 Craig ! Really pleased for you. Give that horse some hay. I like your T-shirt too, and played that album to death back in the early 70s. As I got older I became very emotionally attached to Free. They were so special and very English. Usually listen to them with a tear in my eye. I always thought Dixie Chicken was the best Little Feat album but we've discussed that before. Jeremy Spencer was the perfect foil to Peter Green in the early Fleetwood Mac and brought a lot of energy, excitement and fun to the band. Peter could be very introspective and Jeremy brought out the best in him. They were never as good again when he left.

A great rock album that never appears on anybodys list ever is Fleet Street by Fist. Love the sax in Thunder in Rock. Canadian band too.....
RIP Sass. Thanks for the great music.....

How you feel about the Doves Lost Souls album is how I feel about Bauhaus Swing the Heartache BBC sessions. The versions are better than the original ones and there’s other great stuff on there too like Departure. Which makes it my favorite album of theirs. Good variety and a great listen if you had to pick just one album.

Motley Crue's debut album "Too Fast For Love". Say what you will...I love it. No skips. They were young, lean and hungry before the Vince Neil chub years and embarassing vocals. The Leathur records label version before Elektra messed with it. Check it out.
