The narratives of our experts are perpetually of accepting defeat, subordination and powerlessness.

Africa is not poor but it poor in leadership! There is no proper leadership that has it people in mind!

I wish if PLO Lumumba will takeover the OAU or SADCC permanent leadership position so as to revive our African continent

I respect Prof Lumumba. I would urge him to invite all the undocumented foreigners in South Africa to Kenya to provide that employment which he says they are creating. Which employment are Nigerians creating, please name one company. I would say to you Kenyans, stay out of this. As Kenya you do not have a stigma in South Africa and we have no problems with you. We have an overload of Nigerians, Mozambiqans, Malawian, Somalis, Ethiopians, Bangladeshi and Pakistanis. Kenya stay out of this. You and us are cool.

When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they came for the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I remained silent; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I remained silent; I was not a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left who could speak out.

We've been down and out too many times, we are survivors and we will survive.

The Divide and rule effect is upon Africa by the external hand. Africa has the potential, but our leaders are not united.

As a South African when I hear about the greatness of Malema I laugh. And then I know for a fact that these guys know nothing about South Africa.

Greate educational discussion. Clearly, the government quite diplomacy and failure to implement country (SA) laws to the book has resulted to this sad situation.

Thanks team orators, the own thing regarding documentation this days it's emailed to your mail so even they destroy it, you can go print them out yourself

But fear will not allow anybody to visit South Africa again

Hope the fall of our economy will give rise to your economies

Amazing how these same people talk of their people but the politicians are rich and people have nothing listen to this how they licking the lips ...

Everyone has become an expert of knowledge about South Africa and its people. Am sure other African Leaders are happy that their people are forgetting about all their domestic problems and all of the sudden attributing African problems to South Africa.

Rather late, but this is one of the best online round table discussions on contempoary African  politics I've watched. Thanks to you guys and the Prof for your efforts and clarity. We love the Prof all over Africa for his no- nonsense down to earth approach (he takes no prisoners!). Refreshingly different from the Soyinkas, Ngugis, etc. and their ilk who remain turgid and scared of the wrath of white liberal capital. If you have follow ups, pleae assist us with the following issues which appear not to have beeb covered in this discussion:
1. the reasons why Tanzania is/ was not a member of the EAC
2. why Kenya seems to be part of the Mideast more than Africa, and
3.  the tribal undertones to the ongoing xenophobic crisis in South Africa and possible ramifications. Are we not in danger as Southern Africa, of such a serious scenario as "Mfecane 2", just like the Rwanda genocide ignited war in the Congo? Thank you.

The more they keep hating us for protecting our sovereignty, the more they keep pushing us to hate them

Truely speaking Dr plo Lumumba let's start now to take africa genuinely forward

PLO is a wonderful solutions provider  He is a blessing to Africa long life prof

The current  problems in South Africa are a result of failed states in in Africa, and that should be the primary focus if Africa is to unite peacefully. And the response of poor South African to their challenges of poverty, unemployment etc should never be used to define the psyche of the entire nation, and singling out a few of those you know as exceptions to your rules. South Africans are not monolithic and no nation is. Let's talk about how we as a continent can prevent a repeat of the current SA situation and stop treating the symptom when the wound is getting more and more septic.
