This song is about Croatian catholic girl Diva Grabovčeva. She was born in 1680 during the Ottoman occupation in the village of Rumboci in northern Herzegovina. Allegedly, she was the most beautiful girl in the region and young Ottoman Bey called Tahir-beg Kopcic wanted to marry her. Diva refused but muslim Tahir-beg didnt want hear no for answer from christian girl. She refused and her father Luka and her mother Luca supported her decision. With her parents help Diva ran away from home and hid in the mountains at Kedzara to her relatives. After a while Bey found her there and tried to rape her when she refused him. She refused to submit and renounce her catholic faith, so he slit her throat. Shortly after her death local people buried her there on the same spot she was killed and put small wooden cross. From then local girls started coming to her graveside, making wows and praying. After a while they made larger stone grave, and in recent time statue was built at the site. Even today croatian people, especially young, are making pilgrimages at her grave. For centuries, parents raised their children telling tales about Diva, so they would never lose their pride in their heritage, faith and culture. It had an enormous psychological impact on the Croatian catholic population of Bosnia, Rama and Herzegovina, especially the young girls. For faith and honor, these people sacrificed their lives that were often miserable anyway, during the Ottoman occupation.

This is translation of the song:

''There once was, in that old days,
Beautiful daughter of Grabovac
There where water flow from stone
On the land of Herzeg. (Herzegovina)
There where flowers grow from stone
In the memory of Her.

Enemy strikes , killing young body
He extinguish innocent glow in her eyes
Prayer was on her lips at end
Body died but soul left to the embrace of Gospa (Virgin Mary)

Diva Grabovčeva glowing in the sky forever
Herzeg's water flow
There where was her home

Look in the eyes of our women
And when u see one beautiful glow
That is Diva Grabovčeva
She is still alive u must know
Herzeg's water flow
There where was her home

Diva Grabovčeva glowing in the sky forever
Herzeg's water flow
There where was her home

Today are cruel times, people are evil
There is general restlessness
I feel better when i sing to you about her
About that girl pure and brave
About Diva Grabovčeva

Diva Grabovčeva glowing in the sky forever
Herzeg's water flow
There where was her home

Ovo s violinom je savršenstvo

Hrvati ne klonite duhom,još nas ima.
Za križ časni i slobodu zlatnu.
