The Pokémon Red Supercut

Big Yellow

Wow imagine me actually playing a Pokémon game instead of telling you what Magmar used to do in ZU

This is a cut of my casual playthrough of Pokémon Red that I streamed over on my Twitch a few months ago, it was nice to work on something a lil more lowkey over the holidays and overall I had a lot of fun both revisiting this game and putting this together!

This is compiled from 4 separate streams, so if you wanna jump to a specific part use these maybe:

Intro 0:00:00
Part 1 0:01:25
Part 2 0:43:19
Fanart Intermission 1:32:40
Part 3 1:34:17
Part 4 2:28:33

A Competitive pokemon player plays a pokemon game casually. Hilarity ensues.

"you can't win with just one strong pokemon" i really hope one day when jrose11 finishes the entire 151 dex he talks to that guy and is just like "you sure about that?"

I've always been weirdly ok with the 1/256 miss glitch. It's like, pokemon can dodge. Ash is all the time saying "oh pikachu get outta the way of that or whatever". ANd its such a low chance that its more of a novelty than a problem

The animation thing for the Champion is kind of even more funny than just "it plays animations no matter what". Apparently it turns animations on no matter what, so if you lose you have to turn them off again, it is funnny as hell

Koga talks about sleep tactics because there was a scrapped move called SLEEPING GAS that was koffing's signature move

Alternate universe where red didn't ever go to mount silver but instead stayed in cerulean cave for ten years training to get his Ronan to level 100

“You can’t just win with one strong Pokémon!”
And Big Yellow took that personally… then Sabrina came around and technically proved that guys right. You can’t win with one strong Pokémon. You also need a decent amount of weak Pokémon in the back.

About Prof Oak having only 3 mons left "in his old age," I always interpreted that to mean that he had been giving away the pokemon he caught on his own adventure before he became a professor to other trainers just starting theirs, and these were the last ones he had

No idea what the cannon reason is tho lol

36:30 as a young sheltered child my first exposure to a gay character in media was in Captain Underpants when George and Harold meet their future selves. My reaction was just "Huh, neat."

can we just talk about the big yellow getting constantly cuter trajectory

people really came into your chat and dropped the giovanni pokemon masters lore and then didn't elaborate.

gen 1 is actually such a neat lil romp. getting to see iconic stuff like Wrap Cheese in person truly is.. something.
I played them once and decided to sweep 80% of the game with literally nothing except DUX, it was awesome

Guy with the Rapidash calls his horse ravishing then says "Thanks for hearing me out." What did he mean by this?

I love when streamers actually create edited, curated highlight supercuts like these.
I am really not the livestream type, but they do create fun moments and dynamics still - and this is the way I can actually enjoy them. Thanks for the extra effort, large person who of yellow coloration!
