Nice little cook-out Chris. Thanks for keeping the mystified walker in! That guy will talk about you in the pub! It makes a lot of sense to cook a fry outdoors. i don’t eat them so much anymore but now I always cook it outside so it doesn’t stink the house out! I used to take my firebox with a biscuit tin of sticks to a local beauty spot and cook at a picnic table. People stared as if I had just stepped off a flying saucer😂 I always maintained a superior attitude of someone who knew how to live well. 😃. Handy way to remove excess oil without making a mess is to fold up a bit of kitchen roll like a little mat and set it in the oil. It will soak it up and you can easily lift and drop it into your rubbish bag.
Tips from a friend and an ambitious amateur chef: - Level your gear first. - Never fry mushrooms in oil. When you're done cooking, add a little oil or butter and the other ingredients. - If your eggs stick: the temperature is wrong and/or the oil is wrong. Lower temperature = needs more oil. Higher temperature = needs less oil. By the way: I could never eat that much for breakfast either! Thx for the ferns. No ferns: no fun!
