One of the best breakdowns of three separate kids separated by decades I’ve seen on YouTube. Fantastic job in presentation and delivery. Also a retro kit builder and collector

I built the Fujimi long ago but now I'm 109'd up on Eduard for the rest of the decade😊

Hello. Really enjoy your comparison videos. They show two things, one that an old kit can still be made to look good, and two how far models have come. A nice job on all three. Thank you!

Beautiful weathering and panel line work on these models.  Thank you for posting this comparison.  More!

I have been building plastic models for 60 years and I find myself gravitating these days towards the more accurate and perhaps more expensive models, unless it's one I cannot find in a more modern rendition.  I would rather spend the money than battling with details that should be there or with kits having fit and accuracy problems.  But some of the older kits such as those from Hasegawa and others still hold up against the newer offerings we have today.  I read reviews and watch vids such as this to determine if a kit meets these standards.

Love your build reviews. Thank you for keeping our hobby interesting

Excellent builds and comparison video, Jon! I also like building older kits that most people overlook. It's like you said, they make great models to try out new finishing techniques. I also like the low parts count, which means you'll have something put together quickly. My local model show usually has cheap prices on older kits that modelers are looking to unload.

Jon, really outstanding kits, the finish looks amazing, I always enjoy how you consistently make what I refer too as a museum quality appearance. That desert scheme is difficult to replicate.. My schedule is a bit dynamic, however I've been saving my milk money and hope to make a IPMS show about a 1 1/2 hour away next weekend and see what the vendors have in their vintage kit range. Speaking of add on's. I did see a 3d printed ResKit wheel wells for an F18, and the detail is insane - you could almost buy it for a stand alone kit. Once again Rommel would appreciate these three 108,s Happy Modeling Cheers Bob.

Am going through a few of airfixs re-releases. Doing a lot better job than I did 60 years ago even though I have only been back in the hobby since I retired. Love it as much now as I did then!!!

Really appreciate the breakdown of those 3.  Since coming back to the hobby I've built some older and newer kits and can't say I have a preference.  The older kits tend to let me do some more scratch building which is fun in it's own right.  However there are times I just want all the things there and I can just push through it without having to solve any complex problems.  I'm also not one to nitpik or try to correct if a shape is a little off.  As long as doesn't have an obvious flaw.

Any of those kits would be fun to build. But my main comment is to compliment you on your modeling skills. All three are excellent builds, and the painting is superb.

I really enjoy seeing the work of a great modeller! The differences/accuracy of the kits is important but you demonstrated the possible fixes which is great-not just complaining but solutions! Thanks for posting

Great video Jon and Happy Easter to you and all.!🇬🇧🇺🇸👍

Great review Jon. I had one of those Fujimi kits, but donated it to the local club's show raffle. Hope it went to a good home.

Hi Jon. In my knowledge, the Me Bf 109 F-2/F-4 1/48 by Revell was in origin molded by ICM. The Me Bf 109 G-2 should retain the same wheel hubs of  F (and E) version, id est with strokes. Starting from G-4 version we note solid wheel hubs and bumps on upper wings. The reason is due to different size of tires. Hope that helps. 😊

I am someone who is quite new to the hobby so I find myself gravitating towards more modern/newer kits. The first two I ever built were a P-40 Warhawk and a Bf-109 in 1/72 scale from Airfix, and they were both really simple in detail overall but were a joy to build and paint. I think as I complete more kits I'll look into older models, as for some reason in my head older = more complex haha.
Thanks for the video 😀

Very nice videos you make. Very nice builds also. Unfortunately I have all these in 1/72 scale. I prefer the smaller scale for space saving reasons. So we dont live in the same universe. Nevertheless, I‘m highly interested in your vids. Keep it on!

Outstanding video and presentation.

That fujimi has very nice surface detail. I recently built a fujimi Hellcat from the same period. The cockpit was lacking but the surface detail on those kits is very good and with a proper paint job and weathering, it stands out on the shelf. Great comparisons Jon! Thanks!

Great review of the Bf109F series models. Years ago I built the Fugimi "G" and it didn't looking like a "scale" model when it was finished. It wound up in the bin at a later point. Your 3 Fs turned out superb! Great work........Gary S.

Like these comparison vids, thank you.
