Next to Franz, Kim Delaney gave my favorite, overall performance over the life of her role, of all the NYPD regulars. Just something so honest, lovely and vulnerable about her portrayal.
As so often with these clips, there is such a reflection of real life heartache.
Such a reality as depicted is scarring and heartbreaking. The bravery it takes to face an abuser. 😢
Society can only look at the past and point to the mistakes. Yes, Andy slipped. His son died. It can be called making an allowance. Look at the quality of life he leads rather than the embarrassing shame this scene forces him to endure.
For the record, I am aware it is fiction. However, for me it serves as a reminder to strive toward compassion rather than judgement.
i'm so glad we're evolving to a point where substance abuse is not a precursor for simply invalidating and outright dismissing the sufferings visited upon the victimized
I loved this show even in the later yrs even as the scripts and plotlines became very familiar. Always good acting much better than 90% of the TV then and now.
