In a dystopian future where humans are genetically engineered to stop aging at 25, everyone receives just one more year of life unless they can earn, buy, or steal more time. Time itself has become the universal currency—displayed as a glowing clock on each person's forearm—and when it hits zero, they instantly die. In the impoverished ghetto of Dayton, 28-year-old factory worker Will Salas struggles daily to survive with barely hours left, living with his mother Rachel who faces the constant threat of timing out. After rescuing a wealthy, time-rich man named Henry Hamilton from thugs, Will receives a massive transfer of a century's worth of time, but this windfall draws suspicion from the authorities and leads to him being falsely accused of murder.
Now on the run, Will takes Sylvia Weis, the beautiful daughter of one of the richest men in the elite zone of New Greenwich, as a hostage. Initially at odds, the two form an unlikely alliance and fall in love as they evade relentless Timekeeper Raymond Leon, rob banks of time to redistribute to the poor, and challenge the corrupt system that allows the wealthy to live forever while the rest fight to see tomorrow. Their rebellion sparks a thrilling chase across time zones in a high-stakes battle against inequality and mortality.
