In the original Wii version, the developer message was added to the Wii notice board and calendar day you completed the game on. It was a bit more personal because instead of just NPC text, it was presented more like a postcard/letter.

Edit: In order to get the Rosalina head icon equipable as your save file appearance you also had to 100% the game like in this video. For some reason they just give it to you by default now.

I remember when i got 241 stars in mario galaxy 2 when i was in 3rd grade, I couldn't beat the perfect run at that time because i was too young for this challenge.
Till i was 6th grade, I saw my little brother playing Mario Galaxy 2 then i remembered that i didn't finish the game, So i went and finished the perfect run finally!

Well... This was 7 years ago when i 100% the game, Mario Galaxy 2 is still the best 3D Mario game (For my opinion.)

15:15 That’s new. I was expecting that photo of all 242 stars

This is just a detailing on the Wii message board post for finishing the game while on Wii

Also that photo is likely rerendered

In the Wii version the last toad letter is actually a letter on the Wii box and a picture
That part with the chair and Rosalina's book inside the ship machinery is the new for switch

What happens if you use assist mode for the perfect run?

I feel like it'll be slightly easier especially on better hardware than the Wii version sometimes had delayed button inputs

man i'm impressed and also shocked that you made the perfect run in that short time. to tell you the truth on the wii version of galaxy 2 it made me a whole year to complete the level.

congratulation

The red star in Galaxy 1 wasn't for 100% completition, you could just do the mission at some point in the game and completing it would give you the item in the observatory

Also a trick for the flip platform section in grandmaster galaxy without the 3 clouds is using Luigi and keep doing backflips, the lasers will not shoot anything due to Luigi's height while doing a backflip

There's a new storybook chapter in the latest update!

I remember it took 8-year old me two full years before I finally beat The Perfect Run. Easily the hardest Mario level of all time.

Woah I feel like I got hit with a dose of nostalgia seeing you again in my feed Abdallah! Last video I remember seeing from you was the FE Fates Amiibo showcase videos back in like 2016.

17:01 The Red Star power-up from Galaxy 1 wasn’t a 100% completion reward, the only 100% completion reward you get in Galaxy 1 are pictures for the album, so very similar to this game

Regardless, congrats on 100%ing the game on literally the day it launched lol
