All round play and strategy was fantastic. But in the critical moments we continue to fluff our lines. That said we can’t play this well and without getting the rub of the green sooner rather than later!! COYS!!
After going a goal down and then a man down, I thought we were destined for another gloomy loss. BUT, the lads really did keep their heads and showed some fighting spirit. And to top to off Solanke actually scored a goal!! I'm absolutely buzzing. We really did play some delicious football for the majority or the 90 minutes. Let's hope they can take this into the Coventry game. RDZ is building a strong, determined team with heart to fight for the badge. We can all enjoy the rest of our weekend. COYS!
We played absolutely brilliantly, we can win, lose and draw games ,as long as the players put in a shift and a performance you can't ask for anything else
I was for some reason pleased that we were one man down. The reason being that at the final third, the players seemed to be getting in each other's way.
Spud, I agree. I’d also (using the Spud style book) give a nod to our Swedish midfielder too. Because he made a mark today. Our CF really showed me something today, as did the rest of the squad. I saw Facebook comments that Richarlison would’ve scored on those two chances that were missed by our CF. Maybe yes, maybe no. But I doubt Richarlison would’ve scored on the header because he’d have been moping and diving by then. Our starting #10 played to the top of his capabilities. But he’s not a #10. Even with 10 men, when Madders and Fernandes came on, I was impressed. If a couple more balls hit Savio, Kudus, and Solanke in stride (my one small criticism of our starting #10), we could e run them off the pitch.
I was counting on you for a good video today and you didn’t let me down. And I obviously agree about the most important part of your analysis. We DO have the right gaffer in place. Our lads play with a don’t quit and never say die mindset. Our club, more than anything else needed a heart transplant (Actually we needed a culture transplant). De Zerbi has already succeeded at that, but he continues to build on it. There’s a couple other YouTube channels I enjoy. One is done by a Gooner. But he’s insightful and honest. He only had good things to say about us today. Like you said, if anyone slags us or De Zerbi off after this, they’re simply hacks with a biased agenda. I’ll end with how Solanke impressed me. He had every reason to let, but he fought to get to a cross and May scored a season saving goal for the club and himself. This club is showing mettle and I’m all in for them. COYS💙‼️
The best display so far under RDZ - the front line still need to find some composure up front - surely that will come ! Another thing I liked is we played for 90 mins and we did not go missing when we went one done - well done boys !!!
What I’ve seen so far is that when the wingers do get forward and they cut in looking for the pass inside there is no one running in just inside the penalty area, there are players running in close to the goal but no one coming in for the back pass . If they can cure this problem they will score goals . Totally agree with your comments .👍
The line breaking passes from the Dutch centre back were terrific too. The young English full-back was outstanding too. We rarely dominate at Old Trafford in the way we did last night.
Our center forward today is someone I've defended the last couple of years, but even I'm looking at the evidence on the pitch and that over his career. 29. One good season in the prem.
