Eat Your Sushi: Episode 1

Eatyourkimchi Studio

679,795 views

We're starting a new show called Eat Your Sushi, finally! Basically, it's just a slice of what's going on in our lives, kind of like vlogging but without posting every single freaking day. Think of it as a weekly update, with small videos we shoot from time to time, stories we want to share, games we want to play, and things we want to eat. We really hope you like it, and we're going to keep on working on making it better the longer we're at it!

And if you'd like to mail us something for the show, or just anything in general, our mailing address in Japan is:

Attn: Simon and Martina Stawski

Tororo (とろろ) isn't a fish, it's the mysterious white goo in the bowl. とろろ is grated yamaimo (mountain yam/山芋/やまいも), and is an onomatopoeia for a thick dripping sound. It has a mucilaginous/slimy/gooey/( ねばねば / ネバネバ) texture and is very delicious with soy sauce (shouyu/しょうゆ/醤油) as the kindly おじいさん pointed out to you! Based on your "lemongrass" description, I'd say he probably gave you some ground sanshou pepper (さんしょう/山椒) which goes well on grilled fish. しあわせなしょくじ!

This is one of my favorite eras of Simon and Martina's content! Even after everything that happened over the last year, rewatching them in Japan experiencing a new place and culture with their lovable personalities still brings me a lot of happiness and comfort <3 No matter where life takes them now, I'm still grateful for what they shared with us.

I'm pretty sure everyone remembers RingDingDong (or at least has heard it at some point of their kpopper lives) but... Does everyone know Acha?! BECAUSE ACHA IS MA JAM!!!!!! Super Junior ma loves!!!

@violinasama 10 years ago

Japanese people helping you discover stuff or explaining stuff in public places is the sweetest thing I have ever experienced :''')

@NickaLah 10 years ago

If you don't know Ring Ding Dong and who sings it... deep shame on you.

Not really tho :) I shall try not to be kpop elitist... but seriously, 2007-2012 were really the best years. TVXQ - Mirotic live is one of the best performances you will ever see, especially the one from 9/28/2008 with currently 1.8 million views.

I love rewatching old Eat Your Sushis. I miss them so much! But I know they are difficult editing and filming wise .... I just love watching you two interacting and doing random life things. Been a fan since 2014, every year you get better!
