IIRC, the reason why Diana's gauntlets are as powerful as they are, is because they were forged from the remains of Zeus' own shield (called Aegis).  Zeus gifted it to his son Perseus, who used the shield's reflection to kill the Gorgon Medusa.  After beheading her, the acid in Medusa's blood severely damaged the shield.  Zeus believed the remnants to be useless, however, the goddess Athena persuaded Hepheastus (the god of weaponry) to forge the remains into two gauntlets, which she gifted to the Amazons.

that sequence from No Mans Land to the village bell tower is among the best superhero action sequences ever produced. it never gets old.

The island didn't have a force field around it, it was just magically hidden.

Diana stopping that alley mugging is a direct reference to Christopher Reeves Superman where clark stopped the bullet meant for Lois.

Major hidden thing:  "Chief", the native american guy, he tells her his real name, Napi.(they don't subtitle it)  He's a Blackfoot demi-god.

So nice of Ares to let Diana know she was the one thing/person that could kill him.

The blend of her fierceness, naivety and enormous heart makes Wonder Woman special and unique among all of the comic book heroes!

I loved that Robin Wright played Antiope, the Amazon General who trained Diana.
Robin Wright also is known for playing Princess Buttercup in the Princess Bride.
As You Wish

Steve Rogers (Captain America) was a WWII soldier, while Steve Trevor was a soldier in WWI.  WWI did not have an ability to eject from a plane except by jumping out of one.  Observation Balloon crews used parachutes to jump to avoid death, while pilots rarely ever wore one.

“Cassie: I just saw her in something…another movie.”Indeed you did. That’s Robin Wright. She was Jenny in Forrest Gump.

I am Diana of mascara.  That made me laugh!

Trevor "we can't save everyone in this war. This is not what we came here to do."

Diana Prince witnessing the suffering... "No. But it's what I'm going to do."

and what follows is the best scene in DCEU.  Crossing no man's land.

I think it's one of the top superhero origin movies ever, when you look at how clean and clearly the story is told, and how on message it stays the whole time. Everything here is about defining who Diana is as a person and as a supernatural, super-powered being. The key supporting characters around her are also defined really well, and serve as significant contributors to developing her character. Gal Gadot was also amazing casting for the part. She looked just like the traditional Wonder Woman, with all of her glamour and beauty, as well as a more modern, athletic build than the character had in past decades. Chris Pine also did a great job as Steve Trevor, combining an everyman personality with "above average" heroism. I think Ares was played by an "old man" because the origin story explained that he was weakened in his battle with the gods, and was dealt a nearly fatal blow. He probably could've done more damage if he was at full strength, but he was dealing with some lost mojo that wasn't going to come back after fighting that battle to kill the other gods. They also couldn't hire a great British actor to play him and then replace him with some buff pro-wrestling type at the end.

Ejection seats weren't in use until around 1929. There were no ejection seats in WW1! Steve didn't have a parachute and had to stay on the plane to blow it up!

The ice cream scene is taken directly from the comic books. Its been a while since I delved into the lore, but I believe her armor was created by the god Hephaestus, the god of fire and metal working. That's why bullets bounce off it, the magical properties in it.  I like how naive Diana is to the real world, but its sad also, especially at the end. When she finds out that humans don't need some god to influence them, we're capable of doing vile things to each other on our own, it was heartbreaking to her.

The Queens sister who trains Diana is the actress that played Jenny in Forrest Gump

No man’s land. One of the best scenes in any movie ever.

Wonder Woman might literally be my favorite superhero movie over the last twenty years.  Or at least my favorite that still technically exists in one of these "cinematic universes."  Unlike many of the superhero movies in the modern age, which all feel like just another episode in a long-running TV series, Wonder Woman is one of the exceptions.  It tells a complete story that even someone who has never seen a superhero movie before can enjoy.  It has character arcs, the "fish out of water" trope, the "meet cute," etc.  This is how movies are supposed to be, regardless of the genre.  By that I mean, I feel like movies should be satisfying to watch as their own piece of art, and shouldn't be totally reliant on the fact that there is a "to be continued" post credits scene.

In the after movie review, Cassie said when she first saw the movie, it inspired her to go and work out try to improve herself. That’s what good movies with strong heroes do. They inspire us to do better. And that is a great thing.
