The opening scene was supposed to be Maki and Daigo when they were destined. In the original Adventure, Gennai said Five Children came to the Digital World before the Eight we know, and fought the Dark Masters then. They only drove them back though, no killed them. Daigo led that team, and Maki was similar to Kari, in that Homeostasis used her as a mouthpiece.
LoaderLiomon Didn't die, but he was mortally wounded. Homeostasis took over Maki and sacrificed Bakumon in the form of Megadramon to turn LoaderLiomon, Orochimon, Hypogryphomon, and Triceramon (The other Partners) into Baihumon, Ebonwumon, Zhuquiomon, and Azulongmon respectively, aka the Harmonious Ones/Digimon Sovereign. Yeah, the Sovereign were once the partners of the original destined. Homeostasis told Maki however that Bakumon could not be reborn no matter what, causing Maki to design the Reboot.
Huckmon is an agent of Homeostasis. Yggdrasil is a thing in Tri, and in the canon one, "Gennai" says he works for Yggdrasil, who desires the destruction of humanity and wants to use Meicoomon to do so. Huckmon was made Homeostasis' agent after Gennai vanished. The only unknown is Alphamon. Some people thinks he works for Yggdrasil, but since he's been trying to kill Meicoomon and Yggdrasil needs Meicoomon for its plan, he seems to be an unknown third party.
The Dark Masters being weaker is implied to be because of the Reboot, they hadn't amassed the intellect or skill their original forms had, hence why they act more like lap dogs to "Gennai".
The "DingDong for like, 40 minutes" thing you can guess was from the end of the last one, but it goes a little further. As an April Fools Joke, BlazingAzureCrow released a video called Episode 4, but was actually just Daigo going Ding Dong for about 40 minutes. Meaning that video was canon since thats how long Meiko said he did it.
