This is probably the most versatile way I use paracord with my knives. It’s usually cheaper than buying attachment clips, loops, lanyards, or danglers.

If you put the belt loop of your pants between Paracord loops when putting the sheath on, it will stay in place instead of sliding around

@alastor8091 1 month ago

2:45 tilt the handle up as you draw to creat friction with the cord and the belt. This will give enough resistance to draw. Also, very calming. Nice voice. Thanks for the new knot as well. Cheers, brother.

Thanks for the video, as always. Just as a heads up, one of the nice things about micarta is that it actually gets more grippy when it gets wet.

I carried a couple knives this way for a bit. I put a couple ranger bands around the sheath where it would make contact with the belt to keep it from sliding as much. I also gutted the Paracord and used only the outer tube so it would have less of an issue with stretching and loosening up.

Dear admin, post creator. THANKS SINCERELY for solving my problem with the CLEAR CUT PROCESS INSTRUCTION.

@ericktamberg670 1 year ago

If you wants to lock the sheath in the place, you can use a GI-style military belt with eyelets. I carry a flashlight in this way using a bowline knot. It´s much more practical than proper flashlight holders.

Simple solutions are the most effective, but I recommend carrying the knife with the sharp part of the blade upwards, this prevents you from cutting your trousers and butt when you quickly draw the knife.

I did a double take when I saw the knife. I bought the same knife with sheath last year for my get home bag. I can see how this will work. Maybe I will try this set up.Thanks for the video. Civiti is a well made brand of knives.

Must say thanx for these videos. Been dealing with annoying hardware for scout carry for a while. This has me in love with my belt knife all over again.

@ch2507d 1 year ago

I love the scout carry for general freedom of movement when doing something around camp or walking,also it is not poking the eye if you are in conversation,probably is very good on horseback or bike. But in a car,or to reach under longer garments or with backpack becomes a problem. Sheath should be leather and in more fixed position slightly off center depending which hand is dominant.

@FallingFeatherBonsai 1 year ago

3:30 i put my pointer on the point and my free hand on the sheath then i let my minds hand eye guide my fingers to each other. keeps you haptic with the point in hindsight

In regards to the micarta getting wet, it will actually maintain better grip when it's wet. Weird, but it actually does have less slip when wet. But if the micarta is really overly smooth & it's concerning, sand it some to rough it up a lil. Or, one could put some contoured ridges in it with a drimmel.

I got a Cold Steel Chaos Bowie (just for fun of course) and been thinking about a good way of carrying it. Modified this to work on a bigger & much heavier knife, and it worked well on my last multi day hike. Thanks for the inspo c:

Correction: Your knife makers name is Bob Terzuola. Just a little history. Bob Terzuola created the first one-handed open folder in the Spyderco. That is a one-handed opening folder that wasn't an automatic, and with a serrated blade. He goes back a ways. That looks to be a very good way to secure a fixed blade with the paracord. Good stuff. Thanks.

Nicely done 😊

Shivworks makes a great EDC called the clinch pick. If you take a dremel wheel and make small groves on your handle, it'll give you a better grip.

@KarlRoyale 1 year ago

If you don't wrap around either side of a belt loop, you can slide the sheath to either side as you need. This makes re-sheathing the knife much easier.

@Xibay_ 11 months ago

My EDC, but instead of paracord, just went with zip-ties. Small benefit, one zip-tie is on either side of belt-loop in back of pants, so it works as a stop for sheet travel.
