Perimenopause. There, we said it. One of the most misunderstood parts of a woman’s journey - largely because most women don’t know that they are in it.

Perimenopause is now understood to last approximately 10 years, starting mid to late thirties, and instead of a gentle easing away of the hormones and slipping quietly into menopause, the Oestrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone go wild, erratically spiking, dropping and as a consequence sending symptoms all over the place, from depression to weight gain, incredibly heavy periods to none at all, and many other recognised symptoms.

But unexpected heavy flows are not something we often talk about, as much as the other affects of this phase of a womans journey. Well - in this mini show we are doing just that - blowing the topic wide open.

Listen in to the The SHE Word Mini show hosted by Trudy Kerr for a quick dive into the topic of periods as Gyne Dr Chiara Frendo Balzan, Influencer Demaris Agius and SHE-Word friend Michela Bonavia talk about the symptoms we don't often discuss, and what we can expect from this phase of our lives as women.

HUGE thanks to Always and Tampax for helping us host these important conversations.
