I am shocked that people are surprised. Everywhere in the planet there is good the bad and the ugly what to expect. The continent of Africa is still developing.

😅mistake number 8 “ don’t fall in love with local men”. I fell off my seat from laughter lol 😆 I honestly didn’t expect that. My son is laughing too. Too late! I fell for a Zanzibari - but I wasn’t a tourist, does that count? I lived there. Not too big a mistake I guess : I got my malaika child from him❤🎉😂

Driving is extremely stressful, I know I lived in Zanzibar, if you’re not experienced I recommend hiring the same taxi man and negotiate rates. You help the local economy that way. Tour agents can recommend reliable drivers

I'm just back from Zansibar 12/24 and I think it was the last time 🙈🙈
So much is going wrong on this beautiful island!!! Plastic all over the place and the government doesn't care, joung healthy men have no jobs, infrastructure is horrible and behind the hotels you see the real Zansibar 👎👎It can't be
everything depends on the tourist

You don't need a rental car if you take the vans. There are lots of those going to most places. And the motorbike taxis. Buy your snorkeling or dolphin trips on the beach.

Great video. Now internet is not so bad in Zanzibar. The main problem is electricity power cut. That means no internet during this time if hotels no generators or strong solar system. Big resorts have the money to provide solar or strong generators. But Zanzibar is not just big 5 stars all inclusive hotels! Human lodges are really better and part of the authentic island. Sometimes better to trust the hotels to book excursions, they support local captains, drivers, boda boda... And prices are fair. For sure not online before arrival with crazy prices. Tour operator from outside the country don't support more the locals. Thanks for this video again. You had appreciated our beautiful island.. i am expat.

I’ve travelled the world and Zanzibar was one of the most unique places that I’ve been based on how chill the people were. I know it’s called the Spice Island but I’m pretty sure spice is not the only plant growing there 😂😂

Safety could be on your list too. Never sleep with open windows ✌🏻and prefer a place with security.

the only problem with street food is the chance of getting stomach infection.. please be carefull if you only have 4-5 days it would be a shame to waste 3 days in bed.. Remember its not that they do not clean hands etc. but if its not well cooked the local bacterial fauna can cause stomach problems because your not use to it.. especially red meat, diary (avoid unless factory), eggs can be a problem if not cooked thoroughly, vegetable cleaned in local water.

From my experience, using a local company like Instant Car Rental Zanzibar helps a lot – clear communication, flexible delivery, and cars suitable for island roads

Regular visitor to Zanzibar, have managed to work remotely from Jambiani, really worth a visit and doesn’t need to be hugely expensive. First time visitor? 3 nights in Stonetown and then move to a beach resort in the South East. Lots to do and see and so many really good small local eateries. Enjoy!

Thanks for that information. Interestingly people have high expectations when they are planning to go to Zanzibar. So i guess this will be an eye opener to very many people so that they can lower their expectations about this island. I love it cause i've never been disappointed when i go there yet its now 3 times.
