Natural selection!!!🚀💯💪

Bonito basics: The smallest member of the tuna family has been much maligned over the years because of its strong flavor if not handled properly after being caught. Although this may not be practical on a cattle boat, always bleed out your freshly caught bonito and place it under ice IMMEDIATELY after being caught.  Once you get home, carefully cut off all of the blood meat.  Slice into sahimi-sized pieces and serve with shoyu and wasabi ....if you like, enjoy it with a cold glass of good California sake!   ;-)

Bleed and ice immediately. Makes for bomb poke

Everyone’s freezer is still full🥹 sick video my boy looking forward to more🤙🏽

yo, I think I never Ernie is. Does he pull up to the oside pier?

I’d hate to be a fish that day !!!!!!

Gaht dam that foo Danny still alive.

Bonito is a bit softer than blue/ yellowfin.. can be seared. I tend to marinate and bake then make a version of tuna salad.

Soak your Bonito fillets in Milk for 15 min then season it with some blackening seasoning mix, so bomb, the milk will take a lot of the fishyness taste out of it..

Where did you guys go out of ?

I stayed away from bonito because other people said they weren’t good, but I tried them this year, and they were really good.  My recommendation is to bleed them out in a bucket of ocean water.  🪣 Cut the gills and tail right after catching the fish, and it will drain the blood out of the fish.  We don’t have the luxury of doing that on a boat, but we do it from piers.  We had some yesterday, and we can taste the difference between catching them on a boat and handling them from the pier and bleeding them in a bucket.

Great video!
