Should surgery or rehabilitation be considered for those with lumbar spinal stenosis?

Many people are unsure about this.

I have been treating patients with lumbar spinal stenosis in the orthopedic department for over 10 years.

Broadly speaking, patients can be divided into four categories:

① Those who improved after surgery

② Those who did not improve after surgery

③ Those who improved with rehabilitation

④ Those who did not improve with rehabilitation

These patients can be divided into four categories.

And what happened to them afterward?

Each pattern has its own characteristics.

In this video, I will explain the criteria for choosing between surgery and rehabilitation based on my experience with lumbar spinal stenosis, and share my own optimal solution.

Please watch until the end.

~Self-Introduction~
〇 I have been working in orthopedic surgery as a nationally certified physical therapist for 13 years, and have treated over 60,000 patients, from the general public to professional athletes. (As of 2024)

〇 I specialize in improving the two major complaints of orthopedic surgery, "pain" and "limited movement," based on anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.

In recent years, I have been using ultrasound imaging (echo) to visualize pain and movement, and I have presented at conferences and written papers.
