Why do I feel even more confused after watching this lmao

@totallynottrademarked5279 9 months ago (edited)

Really wish we could get a more definitive, go buy this if you need or want this kind of list somewhere. A lot of us are afraid to pull the trigger on our first printer when all we want to do is print models to paint, have easy to replace and affordable parts, and good quality. I feel like these videos are so information dense, I still have no idea what printer to buy.

@donantonio7335 7 months ago

Thank you for putting this video together but I'm more confused than before

This is my first time watching your video, thanks for the info and the resin playlist! Subbed!

Loved this video. I have many different FDM printers and love them. I want to get a resin printer but am not sure which one just yet. This video has been one of the best so far

I have a 7Max and absolutely love it! The detail I'm able to get is wonderful. I printed a Smaug model and the detail on the skin came through wonderfully. Ive only had it for about a month at this point and may come back to this in a few months with an update if needed.

Doing the lords work. Ty for your dedication.

I still need to be a good girl and set up the resin printer -- we settled on one of the Anycubic Ultras due to one of your previous videos; good to see that's still standing. :) The delay is due to another recommendation of yours, that being the FDM A1 mini. It was the perfect easy introduction and I've shared that video with a number of friends who are interested and it seemed to encourage them a lot. We ended up picking up the full size a1 just this week since we're having such a blast with it. Irony: I wanted to test my doll designs with the less costly FDM for basic steps, knowing I'd eventually be printing it in much more costly resin. I'll... get there, but for now I'm definitely having too much fun making odd little art objects and loving that dopamine rush of 'I made this up a few hours ago and now it's in my hand!' that I can't imagine ever getting over. (it's so great! Best feeling ever.)

I've upgraded from the dreaded M5s to a Mighty Revo 14k. It was such a relief after the horrors of the M5s. If the Revo was offered for list price (1200usd here), I wouldn't have bought it but I got it for around 250 usd as a brand new return. Someone forgot to plug in the lcd in the factory, so they thought it was broken lol.
It's a different world after the struggles with the shoddy M5s. Faster, sharper (even with NFEP on both), and most importantly 5 out of 5 prints just work. It's also way more silent, and despite Mr. Faux here pointing out the heaters bad placement, it does work perfectly fine to heat the resin, not just the air far above it. It would interfere with the vent duct though, so ymmv.
I do still miss my original Photon Mono 2K though, it was an insanely good value workhorse. It's still running perfectly to this day at it's new owner, tuned to perfection, printing engineering samples.

When it comes to buildplate for me the Uniformation has the best concept. It reduces the cleanup soo much as the top side of the buildplate is never submerged in the resin. And the ability to put the buildplate in the vertical drip-off position makes a huge difference. Just yesterday I forgot this step and I instantly had a mess. The Uniformation has alot of good things going for it like i.e. the integrated heating, but funny enough, i never gave a second thought on that buildplate when deciding to buy the printer. But looking back it actually is the major selling point, especially when you are more like a casual print user and want to reduce the messiness and cleanup to a minimum.

I went from playing with two semi-working fdm printers early this year, to getting two anycubic printers in september. The Kobra 3 Max, and the Mono 4 Ultra. Both based, at least partially, on your reviews of them. The Max was about build plate size and price. And after using the printer and their slicer I decided that I would stay in the AnyCubic ecosystem. The wifi and the pressure sensing was the final deciding factor on the Ultra vs the standard mono 4.

I have almost 200 hours on the Max, and almost 100 on the Ultra, and they have been running like champs. Absolute work horses. A minor obstruction in the Max's nozzle, and nary a single issue at all with the Ultra. As far as I'm concerned AnyCubic is the top end of the budget printers.

As a minor side-note, I adore wargamer resin. I've been using it exclusively and it's been fantastic. Expensive, but since I insist on water-washable resin, it's worth it for the fact that it's not brittle after curing.

Another final note: If you don't want to learn how to manually support minis I can't recommend Blueprint Studio from HeyGears highly enough. Orient the model so that your supports are going to attach out of sight, and auto-support. Then export the models as STLs, drop into your slicer, and away you go. It has been SUCH a huge time saver for me.

I got the RS Turbo during the Easter sale. It’s my first resin printer. I have borrowed resin printers from a friend and I will say the RS Turbo just works! No failed prints. I do hate the mess and processing of resin printing but for quality of prints they can’t be beat! I had tried printing a lift arm for a turntable on my X1 and my U1. No matter how I printed it. Removing supports always broke something. The RS made it beautifully and no issues removing supports! Thank you for all your unbiased reviews! It really helped me with my decision. I also saw a video that HeyGears is going to unlock their system soon!

Gone over a number of your videos on your channel. I’m an absolute resin printer noob, and I’ve found your content exceedingly helpful in the purchase decision. Went with Anycubic mono 4 ultra. Thank you for the content and the discount code!

I’ve never heard of the Athena and bought a Phrozen printer for the purpose of printing wax resin for jewelry and small metal parts. The sad thing is I haven’t even been able to use it! I still admire how clean and sharp the detailed prints are. The Athena resin printer is pretty impressive. Solid review and thank you for sharing.

For all the lurking dentists and engineers watching your video, I just want to say we exist 😂. And yes we choose the resin first and then the printer that will work with it

@initi8ed 10 months ago

I think that it's important to learn how to use various slicing programmes on budget machines first, then step up , I've not been able to get time to play with my printers yet this year as life has been ultra hard, I have however been doing a little research on slicer programs and supports , I'm not ready to step up yet but I will be taking a deep dive as I'm practicing commission Painting and want to learn cad . Keep up the good work ❤ you're channel 🤘😊
