I wanted one more motorcycle to be my do-all retirement bike. I test rode a V-strom and a Versys back to back, and then ran as fast as my legs would carry me to plunk down on a loaded DL650 Adventure model with every available option. After 50 years as an avid motorcyclist, I knew it would do the job. That was over 5 years ago and I still love it. The 650 V-Strom is simply the best 70-ish horsepower on two wheels.

i  own a 2011 650 versys with 22,ooo mi. it's been great .it needed a new chain at 7k. but it's never even hiccuped . 500 mile days on the longest rides .but i have to admit the suzy que sounds very nice indeed.

I bought a used one this year and put 3500 miles on it.  Its a big improvement from the previous model run.  Smooth, powerful, good ride, and good gas mileage.  Power in the lower rpms is also surprisingly good and much better than the older version.

It's confusing at times, as too witch bike your talk about.

Worthless (and annoying) music, but the V-strom is a great bike.
