nothing can touch this state of Phil Anselmo. Nobody can command a crowd like this man

A very intimidating and hostile gig that was , Pantera only got a 2 man tent for their backstage accomodation , no food , no water , no where for their road crew to to do their job.  Dimebag also got arrested an hour before pantera was due on stage ,something to do with a military official pointing weapons at the bands tents & not letting the band memebers move from their designated spot,so dimebag decided to complain about their treatment.  From the interviews i've seen from Pantera & Metallica they couldn't wait to get the fuck out of that place.   The soviet union collapsed 2 months after this gig.     1.6 million people is alot of people , even the police and military were in the mosh pit.  That country has been starved of live music.   Very scary gig , i believe it was the biggest crowd ever for a musical concert

The way Vinny can mimic gunshots with his drums was epic

0:25 when you're not the father

Imagine going from Soviet propaganda music to that!

Nobody talk about Phil... I miss Phil also... I miss the band. Phil was AWESOME!!! No one, I mean NO ONE can sing like him! VIVA PHIL CARAJO!

For my money, this live performance of this song should be the OED definition of what rock/metal is about. Anger, rebellion, disenfranchisement, a yearning for freedom, distrust of authority, etc.. It's all here. This concert took place in the death throes of a repressive communist regime little more than a month after a failed coup, was headlined by musicians from that regime's ideologically opposed arch enemy, and with the crowd security being handled by the damn military. How can you ever top that?

For anyone who watches this today and isn't aware of the sociopolitical context that this concert took place in, it's far more combustible than it might initially appear. It's not a perfect comparison, but the closest analog I can think of today would be North Korea. Imagine Kim Jong-Un's regime started to lose his grip on North Korea and in an effort of appeasement he began opening up his nation to outside social/artistic influences. Then an American band shows up and lays down this performance.

why the hell did they cut this fucking EPIC solo???, they were probably jealous or scared that dimebag blow all the others AWAY(metallica acdc ...)
PanterA is THE shit rip bro'

Who are still here in 2025?🤘

No one cares, but Rex MURDERED IT on this recording. Jesus, what a player. I mean, they all did, but Rex found another fucking gear during the solo. Unreal.

Badass  PANTERA  RULES  ! Nobody
Like  dem RIP DIME  & VINCE  !

0:14. Even that one Soviet soldier was getting into it. While all the others were beating the fans over the head with rubber sticks. All just 3 months before the Soviet Union collapsed.
