The provided video and accompanying information are highly informative and valuable. Currently, I own two EcoFlow Delta Ultras, each equipped with four batteries. Additionally, I have two Smart Panel 2 due to the distance between my primary panel and a subpanel located in the garage. One of the Smart Panel 2's is connected to the main panel, while the other is connected to the subpanel. The system connected to the subpanel utilizes only the high-voltage solar inputs. Conversely, the system connected to the main panel employs both high and low-voltage inputs. Very happy with the results.

I’ll be honest Johnny, you did a lot of work here. Very thorough. Thanks for not putting out garbage vanilla videos and actually giving us some real use case scenarios. Keep up the awesome work. 💪

Good video. Actually I think it is nice to have these options that allows current owners and new owners with different circumstances to have options.

Thanks for this video. This was great timing for me.

There's one more thing to consider. Two DPUs take up twice the floor space that a DPUx does. Now, if you were planning on running more than 5 batteries, it doesn't matter, because at that point, even the DPU will take up the same amount of space.

I was waiting for a video like this, thank you!

Home Depot also has some deals on DPUs and batteries. They get periodic sales and the delivery is very good via fed ex. I received one dpu and battery from Home depot, and one dpu and battery from Ecoflow. The Fed ex delivery from Home Depot inventory was faster than Ecoflow directly. Maybe I just ended up with strange delivery from Ecoflow, but home depot was really good when shipped to my home. I currently have 2 DPUs and 2 batteries each for my home with the 50 amp hub which would only be needed if it was a holiday and I needed my entire stove. The question that one needs to ask is whether they need more than 7200W during an emergency. After I assembled the entire system, I remembered that it is an emergency stupid, I don't need to cook thanksgiving diner during an emergency.

Very interesting evaluation! Enjoyed the video. Thank you

I recently purchased 2 DPU's and and 4 batteries with Home Panel 2 over the DPU X with 4 batteries and HP3. At the time, I concluded that I did not need all 32 circuits of the HP3, and the price difference was $1800 better through Wellbots. If I needed 32 circuits or 200Amps in the Home Panel then I would have gone with the DPUX, but this route gave me the extra solar input and and higher total output capability through the HP 2 that I wanted for this application, at a lower price. Both are awesome options.

Thanks for the video I have been waiting on this comparison! I'm just gonna add another dpu & shp 2

I have a DPU. One thought that I had was to get a second DPU and the 50 amp hub for use during the summer to be able to run my 3 ton HVAC and then during the winter when I won't have that high power draw use just one DPU (possibly have both DPU's hooked up to my solar panels in my back yard as the shade is a big issue in the winter and having more MPPT inputs I believe will be an advantage) -- I would then probably switch between DPU's for AC output when needed.

@rpstudio9200 7 months ago

I would choose 2 dpu over the 1 dpuX just because of the redundancy

I have 2 DPU’s and 6 batteries with the SHP2 since 2024. I bought my batteries 2 at a time when cash was available. With 14,400 watts and 60 amps total with 36KW runs the small home for 60 hours without AC. With my mini split and 4 air handlers I can run for 24 hours. No solar yet. With the DHP2 I can see each battery percentages on each battery. Storm guard kicks in to charge up the batteries before the storm hits. My 6 batteries take about 1.7kwh to charge up each night not using EPS mode. EPS mode will cost almost double to charge the batteries daily. I only contacted EF support once and they pushed out a firmware upgrade to help balance the battery charging about a year ago. They are going to work until they don’t. I’m not going to worry about it until then.

Great Eco flow delta pro ultra X system 😊👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💯

I’m sticking with the DPU system and 50A hub. I bought the DPUX inverter and tried using it, but it failed to work correctly for me. I hooked it up to one stack of DPU batteries and tried to recharge it using the EF generator AC charge adapter hooked up to my other DPU unit’s 14-30 output and the DPUX wouldn’t charge the batteries. Never had that issue with the DPU. I sent the DPUX unit back and replaced it with another DPU. I now have 4 DPU inverters, each with a 30KWH battery stack and 2 50A hubs. The system works flawlessly!. One last thing - the build quality of the DPU is much better than the DPUX. The DPU is built like a tank. The DPUX seems cheaply made in comparison.

I hope every EcoFlow owners have better luck then I have. Going on my 3rd warranty claim with my DPU.

Redundancy was a big draw for me. My original DPU had issues and had to be sent back to EF during prime June sunlight. EF’s support is less about troubleshooting and quick to replace devices at no cost if they are within warranty. That’s great, but not super convenient and I’m sure won’t last forever. Another huge draw was taking advantage of refurbished units on EBay from EF. I bought my 2nd unit (inverter plus battery) on Dec 30 for the lowest price I’ve ever seen. Same warranty, device looked new.The tax incentive made it that much more attractive. One last detail for my setup - on one unit I connected 9 panels to HPV and 3 to LPV. With two units I split the panels 6 and 6 and on a very sunny day I get more input from the same setup up because I’m no longer clipping the input wattage. Overall, happy with my two DPUs.
