I love how RT had never known that there is something in the deep dark, but rather just told himself that there was something and spent hours looking for it, only to just stumble upon the actual treasure in a different cave. He truly dove deep into insanity

For those wondering, not every deep dark has an ancient city.

in that first half, RT was basically a little kid trying to figure out why his 3ft x 3ft square of beach doesn't have any pirate treasure in it.

fun fact: i had missed that first stream but tuned in for the second one, so when dan started it with “THERE WILL BE NO GEOMETRY ON TODAY’S STREAM” i was very confused

I love how in 6:59 you can see a tab open that's just "Geometry"

The best part is, the Ancient Portal in the City is wider than it is tall. It's not a circle.
It's an ellipse.

Where do the circles lead? That's right, into the square hole

Alternate title: Basic math sends English Major into a crisis

I had surgery a few months back and needed some background noise to fall asleep to while I was recovering. I put the Minecraft playlist on, and I fell asleep within the first episode. (Dan’s voice is very soothing.) I woke up when this frantic treasure hunt started, half delirious from pain medication, hearing an Irishman scream from my TV: “MINECRAFT DIAMONDS”

Funniest part for me is his logic really would work in a lot of scenarios. Minecraft generates mountains in a circular pattern, and it is not at all uncommon to find ancient cities under the center. You might even find multiple overlapping cities if the conditions are right.

Him learning about the ancient city, sniffer eggs, and then goddamn bamboo in quick succession is hilarious

The cube in circle hole image and Dan losing his shit over it always sends me, that man has never laughed so hard

im the one who posted the thumbnail image to the discord and i was mildly drunk scrolling google images and had actual tears of laughter running down my face for this whole bit, still makes me giggle to this day

Turns out, all these squares did not make a circle--AND WHY IS THAT ONE STILL GREEN?!?!

I’m glad we got a whole 17 minutes really gives that “oh god I’m going insane” feeling with full context

7:33 imagine joining the stream late and seeing dan laugh maniacally at an image of a children's toy and a hammer

All squares lead to a circle

14:17 he sounds like a man from Lovecraft's story trying to distance himself from madness his curiosity bestowed upon him

watching this whole saga was basically like seeing a lovecraftian short story unfold in real time

For me, this is THE moment of Dan's MC playthrough. Sure, it isn't as "clippable" into a 10 second thing like the creeper in his house, but just the insanity yet being proved semi-correct? Love it

A bunch of circles being the Madness Joker in his custom textures for Balatro will always be the cherry on top
