I am totally loving your KC Star videos. So much history in these old yet new patterns!

This is the definition of ‘controlled chaos’ and we’re so in love!❤

DCR Tuesday FTW! 🎉🎉🎉

It'll buff is my new favourite quilting term.

You never cease to amaze me.  This is a stunning quilt!  I love to watch your videos so much.  Thanks Dave!

Aw, bless you, Dave! At the end, you finally showed it as what MY brain insisted was right side up.🌠And yes, I was around in the 50s and 60s when my grandmother and great-gma were quilting. One of them pieced everything on her treadle Singer, so she "could finish it while here on earth"; the other hand-pieced so she could sit and visit. When I made my first quilt in 1970, it was a hexie, hand-pieced, but sure not the current English paper piecing method popular now. I hand-pieced was because it was portable and compatible with mothering. And oh yeah, there was no "quilting cotton". You used whatever clothing fabric you had left over, or specially bought, if you didn't want scrap. And the cloth quality was way better, more akin to today's batiks base.🌠
About the early 70s, the quilting resurgence was beginning, with magazines, stores, and even a mail-away catalog. I think this sudden growth in communication was what got our new tools and techniques invented. Hive mind buzzes up the change scale faster.🌠
HSTs in multiple? Never saw them until I saw it in a magazine. Chain piecing by machine? Sure thing! You don't want to sew stop and go with a treadle!🌠
Dave, the reason I watch and enjoy you quilt is because you're not selling the latest gadget, and you like to see how it all comes out as you go, not following someone else's precooked, freeze-dried, and packaged kit. 🌠
So, you go, Dave. Keep on trying things out and being you. 💖💖

I've found myself saying "it'll buff..." in my projects.  Love this pattern!  Looks amazing

I love this quilt. I would so love to show my mom and grandma all the new quilting methods developed with rulers and rotary cutters. Magic.

Nice commentary, thanks for making so many videos.

All I have been saying the last few minutes is "Wow"! Another amazing, lovely quilt, Dave!😀 Thanks for letting us visit.

Very nice job, Dave! Thanks for reaching back in time to use an old pattern.

I miss the dry-erase board with a Dave-ism like, “brown fabric is a cry for help”. 😂 “it’ll buff” has eclipsed that one now. Bring it back! Love your sugar loaf quilt, it’s so awesome with all those beautiful diamonds. ♦️

Thank you for another wild stunner Dave!!!

I love all the bright colors, and the combo of big stitches and ties.

I'm a huge fan of yours. You're one of the few YouTubers that I actually watch your videos and don't just have on in the background or on while I'm doing something else. 😃

Another beautiful designed and fabric choices. Hand stitching is perfect with the ties.  Glad you found another vintage book. They are amazing.

Very cool. Love how you are showing us something old and making it new.

It reminds me of Harley Quinn! I LOVE it!

❤ Sugar Loaf turned out Sweeeeeet! Love your color combos as usual❤

Nice work and fun video!!   😂 It will buff. 😂
