Glad Copani is living a normal life. Its pretty rare for DSOR topics to have a happy ending

this episode serves as an example that even if you play the game, do everything the right way; it still doesn’t mean ANYTHING

I'm glad he didn't fall off the rails like most of the Dark Side stars.

Buried, bullied and fired for being good at his job
smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

This gimmick was WAY too complex for Vince’s WWE to pull off well.

@comixproviderftw_02 1 year ago

The fact that they never even considered bringing him back with a repackaged gimmick is so frustrating.

That guy from OSW Review summed it up the best

"Typical McMahon Bullshit, book the way I want you to book, now change it because I want something else. it's shit?? Oh well you booked it, it's your fault, get out"

Hassan’s theme song is better than most themes today 🔥🔥🔥

The worst part about Muhammad Hassa terrorism angle, is that WWE didn't have to do the angle. Because Muhammad Hassan already had heat to begin with. It was like WWE was trying to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place. And by doing that, WWE ruined everything.

Fun fact: Hassan's masked men were reused for the video game "SmackDown vs RAW 2009", called "The Masked Man" 3 years later.

Stephanie is definitely her fathers daughter

I'm amazed at how Stephanie McMahon was so careless when it came to the wrestlers in terms of booking and yet tries to paint herself as some sort of saint.

She truly is her father's daughter.

The idea of the Muhammad Hassan character was nothing but genius.

The whole idea of an Arab American American calling out other Americans for the treatment of Arab Americans in the post 9/11 world was brilliant ground work. He was morally right, imagine the promos he could have cut.

If they kept the original concept, he could have been one of the greatest heels in wrestling history

@KalvinEllis 1 year ago

They set him up to fail and used him as a scapegoat. Bunch of assholes.

@Rome.Monroe 1 year ago

The quintessential trio of characters from that era who were squandered were Hassan, O’Haire, and Mordecai.

@NathanKJohnson 7 months ago

Instead of firing him, they could have either repackaged him or put him in a producer role, or train him to become a producer. To fire the guy for doing his job was beyond messed up.

Muhammad Hassan to me will always be one of my biggest what ifs when it comes to WWE because he wasn’t your typical foreign heel, there was some validity & truth in what he was saying and he definitely could’ve been a world champion if he unfortunately hadn’t become a victim of shitty circumstances

During that time, he was on the verge of buying a house. He sat down with Maven a few months ago. Was really done dirty.

I'll never forget how much of a great heat magnet he was, the perfect package of a theme, capable wrestler, mouthpiece in Daivari who was great too, and so on. Rightfully hated him but man he was amazing to hate and in he end, he was 100% right as a villain.

This will go down as one of my favorite episodes of the show. The Muhammad Hassan character was far ahead of its time. He played off the obvious stereotypes that many Americans labeled Arab Americans in the aftermath of 9/11. What the character showed is the obvious contradictions that this country always had, yet people let their inner racism affect their thoughts.

I believe that if the WWE maintained their original idea of the character. It would have worked. But, when Vince McMahon decided to play off the stereotypes months later on Smackdown. That's when everything fell apart.

I remember when WWE aired those disgusting segments involving the Undertaker on Smackdown. It was so bad that the UPN network forced the company to remove the character after the London bombing.

WWE absolutely deserves all the blame for this mess.
