I’m finally back with a new video and naturally, we’re talking about art supplies! 🎨

Today I’m sharing a few colorful new arrivals, including a compact watercolor palette, a beautifully curated gouache set, and some very clever double-ended travel brushes from Fuumuui.

We’ll test the different brush shapes and the marks they can create, explore the colors I mixed from the gouache set, and chat about the supplies that have been inspiring me lately.

I’d love to know: what have you recently added to your art-supply collection—and what is currently on your wish list?

I am so glad to see you and a new video! I love your videos encouraging play and color. I am mostly a watercolorist and use multi-media with pencils and neocolors. Tutorials, reviews, anything. I just really like your style.

Great to see you back. As more folks monetize the joy of art, new artists have appeared which is good. Always love your color palletes. But the one fact that has stayed with me is your experience growing up packing a gun to school.

I like just watching you play with paint and color and also I like to see what art books other people have.

It is a good day when it starts with Irit colors! Good to see you again! My new art supply is the R & F drawing sticks and I am loving them on top of my watercolor.

Idea: I'd love to see easy watercolour landscape. Hope you’re enjoying your summer and it’s not too hot for you. 🩷

Hi Irit! I haven't seen your vids in a while. Good to see you! I have some of the Flashe vinyl colors...and they have a 16 color range of bio-based vinyl too that I have about 8 colors of. I also have a few of their regular colors. I recently used the Ivory Black from their Discovery set. I have never seen such a deep and flat black before. Their paints are really beautiful! No doubt! BUT at some point I picked up a couple of Golden So Flat colors that were reduced at Michael's (US craft & hobby store ...they sell some fine art supplies,) a light orange and yellow green. I have to say, I found them to be very similar in quality to Flashe vinyl. Then I also found a very reduced & discontinued set of 5 Golden high flow acrylics that have just blown me away! Their pigment load is very high. Of course, they're pretty pricey too! I didn't know the LF& B had gouache. Is it available in the U.S? I've never seen it before. Thanks!

so nice to see a video from you! In terms of new supplies, I did pre-order the 20 new Polychromous colored pencils to add to my collection and have just purchased some Blockx watercolor half pans to try. The tubes are crazy expensive here so i never tried but had the chance to get a half pan set so went for it. (Not that I need ANY new paint but NEED is never a factor when curiosity takes over!)

Hullo Irit, It is nice to see you posting on YouTube again! Do you think in Austria, you might think about local shops and store? Brands? Like here in America, we used to have a Cheap Joe’s and they had their own store brand of watercolor papers “Kilimanjaro” and they made books and sold sheets. They also had cheap Joe’s brushes, etc. Blick a bigger store here in America as similar store brands like watercolor blocks, brushes , etc. even soft pastels, paints, markers! Well, you didn’t mention video ideas so you can listen to local story thinking what they have from your part of the world. Just an idea is turn your camera on the while you are creating and then decide if the art is good enough to do a video? I’m sure the people who enjoy watching you will in tune in for that. Good luck and have a lovely day.

I love watching you create! Videos without B roll or talking is just fine! Relaxing music and some speed painting can make great videos when you need a lower workload.

Other video ideas: your 10 favorite sketchbook spreads, inspiration sources, a Manley wax crayon deep dive.

I've always wanted to try a toolkit palette...

Caran d’Ache finally released a box set of their 15 new 50th anniversary NEOCOLOR 2 crayons. You can only buy them from their website right now. I ordered mine yesterday. Thought your listeners would want to know. Glad to see u back. But always take the time you need to care for yourself & family when necessary.

I think making a good teal color exists in those gouache colors. Blue, green, white. .i would start with smidge of green, add blue and see if it needs to be lighter in value. Add white.
I also wondered if you mixed the green and pink if you could make a nice desaturated purple. Off subject there a tad. ❤
Love your swatch paint book. Handled like a dream. And those brushes ive been admiring when i see other artists use them.
The brush that looks like someone is flipping you off is def made as a script liner style that holds a boat load of pigment. . I have tried to use mine to sketch outlines before painting. And might hit those lines with a mister to soften the edges of the lined sketch.think they call it a tracer some places.
Wondered if you used rhose brushes for many miles how well they last- shape, bristles falling out. But also 💡 if you could load more then one color on those brushes to do some gradients with the goache. I dont like when artists turn to gauche instead of watercolors cuz I like the transparencies and dont wannna start buying all new things..and yhen the approach changes away from watercolor practice completly towards opaque mediums.. they loose their skills with watercolors usually.
I have been exploring granulating watercolors in the past 6 months. Stayed away from all granulation first few years of wayercolors cuz i lile painting pretty faces. Now, im good with that mostly.
Got d.s. lunar black...just discovered its magentic. .and wondering about using a magnet to affect the granulation. . Cuz, its so pretty ontop of bright colors and def resembles the black of night diffusing edges and loosing focus. Dunno there is something there, that i havent gotten to yet.
