this blue haired freak again??

8:57 Don't you love it when a character is supposed to be interrupted, but instead they just stop talking because the other actor misses their cue?

It’s been 2 years but my head canon is that grandpa couldn’t go to California because they expected Allie to fail and didn’t buy enough tickets to Disney.

Honestlly, Ally and Obie is a weirdly accurate childhood experience lol. A bunch of random shit occurs, adults and people with authority move you around randomly and yell at you for things outside of your control, and your only friend is your dog.

11:06 I think the dog is literally comforting the boy because it can smell how stressed out he is :(

As someone who grew up with undiagnosed AuDHD, I actually find the plot of everyone yelling at Allie for not knowing math but refusing to teach it to her properly the most realistic part of that movie.

20:13 unironically this is how math teachers treated me and my dyscalculia all throughout elementary school. "it's simple... oh you find it hard? well. sucks to be you."

"dude survived the bubonic plague and all of his shirts are from american eagle" is the funniest sentence ive heard all year

4:42 Hey guy, i am very sad to report that this train and the mall it was in are both are both being torn down. Truly a sad day for all of us summertime christmas fans.

"shame on you for spreading idle reports Joan" has to be the greatest line of dialogue of all time

Ally & Obie feels like a movie I would make with my cousins at a sleepover at our grandparents house

“this is boring, im going home” is actually such a funny thing to say to kids being mean lmao

26:28 I wasn’t actively watching the video, and the voices blended together, so for a hot second I fully thought grandpa was dead and THAT was how they delivered the news 😭

Idk why but that clip of the director telling him to “just joke around a little” was extremely creepy and unnerving

‘forced improv as a 12 year old’ sounds like a newly added circle of hell

That dude was immediately skeptical of Joan’s BS. She definitely is no stranger to spreading idle reports.

Everyone is focusing on the "hitting your children part" (as they should) but the "The UN passed a law" part had me rolling on the floor. Not only the UN does not have legislative power, but that's not how international law works, and it definitely does not depend on domestic law enforcement... And states can't even agree not to go to war, but sure yeah they agreed on that

I love that the grandpa complains about “new math”, but one of the problems on the board earlier was literally 4x3.

The grandpa going "this is the new math!" when it's just multiplication and shit is unironically a great bit

the most accurate part of ally and obie was all the adults saying "math is not that difficult" and then offering no help
