Unironically love that this is like the 3rd Most Accurate T. rex video on this channel, it's cool to see how our understanding keeps evolving

Another year another facelift for the king.

It has been an immense project, the team really have done all they could to create the best quality and most reliable interpretation of T. rex based on the information available at the time. Great video, thanks for posting.

The picture of the rex resting at 5:47 has to be my favorite piece of paleoart. It's the only one I've come across that really shows the animal as an animal rather than a monster or an assemblage of anatomy. I wish depictions of normal behavior like that were more common.

What a beautiful thing for people to spend time on. So much passion for these animals that once roamed our world

I dare you to make one of these on Spinosaurus 🗿

As a game texture artist who loves paleontology this video felt like it was made for me, super interesting

@mrsanity 10 months ago

I strongly suspect that a T-rex fresh out of the egg would have been very fluffy, with the integument getting sparser as it aged, with maybe some variation based on local temperature ranges.

The king of the dinosaurs will always fascinate us even after 120 years

@RXTRUX1 10 months ago

Every version makes the arms look even more completely vestigial.

@Raptor_motion 5 days ago

Watching this vídeo EXACTLY one year after it releases.

@AgsmaJustAgsma 10 months ago

I like how the arms makes it look like he's belly laughing.

I love the time of the year when the streets are lit nicely, everyone sells lovely biscuits, and a new T-Rex face drops.

Imagine a giant chunk of amber preserving a complete T. rex head.

@thetitansofbrahma6702 9 months ago

The fore limbs are not even modelled standing out. I’m sorry but this model looks fairly rough.

I really like the design, but the teeth are a deal breaker for me, it looks like it has human teeth in a weird arrangement (too thick at the end). Like, why did they put all that effort on the skin and muscles, but went so lazy on the teeth, which has to be one of its most distinctive feature.

@Rand0mV1dz90 6 months ago

The fact that we even have fossilized impressions of T-Rex skin is just amazing…

New title “This follows the current best evidence we have.”

Not “this is 100% correct” — because we can’t know soft tissue, colour, fat distribution, exact posture, behaviour, etc.

@DiamondEye99 10 months ago

My only issue is that they middle toe isn't longer than the rest like how it should be but its honestly a very good model and I love those colors

Cool to see a documentary about the creative process behind something like this. The intersection between science and art has so much potential. Hope the company can be successful in future endeavors like this. There's a lot of cheap, thoughtless, and wasteful garbage put out into the world and this is the total opposite
