They likely did an add on at some point where they redid part of the systems. Audio circuits require proper wiring to protect against induction and require separate wires for the speaker and strobe which in existing areas may not be possible

Can't count the number of times I tested alarms in schools. Usually tried to schedule it with the schools so they could have their fire drills on the same day. If it was a nice day outside, we took our time. Give the students more time away from class. We were kids once after all. 😁 Once kids were back in class, we had to test every single device, and then find a secluded spot like a mechanical room to fill out paper work. Miss those days.

Those Speaker Strobes at my High School sound great since they finished building the new field house and the art rooms.
