Today I did something completely different… I actually stepped behind the counter and cooked my own fish & chips in Skegness! 😱🍟

I headed down to Fox’s Fish & Chips in Skegness where they gave me the chance to try it for myself – from dipping the fish in batter to dropping it in the fryer and seeing if I could actually do the job properly! 👨‍🍳🔥

Was it harder than it looks?
Did I mess it up… or did I smash it?

Yorkshire fishcakes are known locally as Sheffield fishcakes. Same with 'scraps' and (in Sheffield) 'Fish bits'.

The beef dripping means a visit from me when I next visit Skeggy.

Walked by Fox’s loads of times, Never called in. I must go in after watching this video. Looks really good. Very clean too. Staff excellent. 👌

I remember doing yts when I was 16 lol, not in a fish shop though but a pet shop, card shop and office , I do love fish n chips yum xx

Great wstching how its done behind the counter. We ate fish n chips here a few weeks ago, the kady refused to split a portion of chips though ! Haddock was ok, seemed very bright yellow batter, bit tasteless we thought. Chips ok, curry sauce, thick n claggy, yuk! Nowhere near as good as The Wetherby whaler in North yorkshire. Now they are the best!!

In Skegvegas now, went to Fox's at 16.25 tonight for some grub, but they were closed lol,so went to the Trawlers catch instead as did the other 5 people behind me. So Trawlers catch £100 Fox's £0 lol 😂
