This was super fun to love with. What do you think of this car?

Correction:
Fieldmaster & Trialmaster are just accessory packages. There’s no difference in suspension whatsoever.

This is the only vehicle on the market today that excites me. I’ve only seen a few here in the U.S., but they are trickling in. They actually look smaller up close than in pictures. I parked my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder next to one and was surprised to find they were similar in size.
Loved the review.
Cheers

own one since yesterday and i am allready in love with it....if it stays strong i wil never sell it again...

Great car, great people at Ineos, and IT IS FRIENDLY… we have had two

The suspension is the same on the Trialmaste and Fieldmaster. your dad gave the most sensible explanation I have heard o far

Great review, and it is heartwarming to see father and daughter interact.

The very best 4x4 available. End of story. I’m one year in and love it.

The Edinburgh sales have two guys rattling around in an empty Rolls Royce showroom. No mechanics/parts/valeters/accessories to even activare the spare key. I like them but worry about back up going forward.

Just purchased a ‘26 here in the US, Trialmaster but with most of the options boxes ticked so other than the carpet a Fieldmaster plus the added towing kit which includes stiffer springs. I purchased it to replace a fully optioned Lexus LX because I hated the ultra lux ride of the Lexus and the disconnected driving experience. I’ve put 500 miles on it in 2 weeks and absolutely love it. I really appreciate the intentional trade offs made in the design and the execution of this incredible vehicle. Planning to drive it till it stops moving forward.

The fuel economy and VED are killers. My late parents would hate the speedo as they would have been able to tell when the other was speeding!

Such an interesting and fresh review especially from a Land Rover owner. You raised some very relevant points that most people seem to miss. Maybe I must take a look at this vehicle

I agree with you Amelia, the Grenadier is a good mix between the old Defender and the new one. It's the best choice! It has the style of the old Defender, and real off-road capabilities (unfortunately in France there's a terrible €60,000 penalty)!!!

I grew up in England and my uncle always had a Range Rover and always loved them. I moved to the United states when i was 11 and always wanted a Land Rover but here in the States you could not get them. They did bring the defender over here in the late 90s which they were very expensive. 50-60k back then. I finally was able to get a discovery 2 and loved it . They only had the v8 option which was not the best for fuel economy and reliability. As i didn;t have much choice i ended up buying a Toyota LandCruiser 80 series 13 years ago. Now I want one of these and here in the states you can only get a petrol one and there a few on the road now and  I am waiting for prices to come down before i buy one. Great Review and jeez I miss the UK.

Excellent Video.  I think I have watched at least 50 Grenadier Videos and yours is the first one that wasn't mostly off road.  Real driving and honest opinion, thank you.  I just wish we could get the diesel here in the USA.  Average 15 MPG is what the state here, my Lexus GX 460 I average 17 around town.  My 1997 Discovery got better than 15 and the Grenadier is bigger.  This isn't a deal killer, but it does hurt.

I've had the Fieldmaster edition for close to a year now and use it daily and I think your review was pretty spot on.
I would just say the main problems I have with it are the turning circle is rubbish and the dash needs more thought in its layout. We tow a horse with it and it's brilliant for that, the rear camera is very useful when you hitch up and it's comfortable on motorways once you get used to it.

Another great review Amelia! I had the chance of seeing one up close the other day and it really looks the business and the owner of the vehicle said it was a very capable and strong vehicle off road. It basically fills the niche that the Land Rover left when it upgraded to the new look as you said. 🎉

Love the basic wheels makes it look legit

Amelia - great review!  Just picked up my 2025 Trialmaster  and as you say…it’s like a new member of the family has come home.

Tengo un Defender 110tdi del 98 y desde entonces seguimos juntos. Magnífico el Grenadier, me gusta mucho. Saludos.
