Matpat giving The Pope Undertale still remains so funny to me to this day. That would be like if I was given a chance to meet Obama back in 2013, and I gave him a copy of Slender: The Eight Pages.

Matpat just had so much charisma and presence man, I don't hate the new guys but they lack that special sauce idk

My favourite part about the FNAF theories is that last year Scott literally said what was basically “oh yeah anytime MatPat was right I just changed the lore”

I don't think Matpat censoring covid in the title and thumbnail was for his upset audience.
From like April 2020 to Late 2021, YouTube would block and suppress any video that contained the key words "Coronavirus", "COVID", & "COVID-19" .
Something about stress or something. I forgot youtube's explanation I know they just wanted to suppress information because Google

God it must be so tiring being compared to Chazington, like living in his shadow... but that's just a theory

“And then I thought to myself this game is good but I got a theory” - matpat probably

My personal issue with the new hosts is it’s clear the writing team is still the same. And the writing was made for Mat pat. His personality, his narration, his line delivery, his comedic timing. For a lot of the newer stuff, it feels like instead of actually getting to know the new hosts, they’re all doing their best mat pat impressions. I’m sure it’s not entirely their fault since I’m pretty sure the channel is a small corporation now.

I clicked on the video without looking at who made it and deadass thought you were chazington for a solid minute.

goomba got back is the pinnacle of human achievement

19:18 I mean it was easy to treat them as something more because back then making horrible content was the worst you can do on YouTube, but now that most YouTubers fail at being a decent human being people's criticism have shifted.

Fun fact The Living Tombstone (yes really) made the instrumental to goomba got back

2010-2019 was the core of YouTube in general. I would consider it the birth and death of YouTube. There should be a whole ass history book about it.

No matter what you think of him, you can’t deny the major impact matpat had on YouTube culture, which made his appearance in the fnaf movies feel all the more deserving.

I'm sad you didn't mention his horrific play through of LISA: The Painful on GT Live. He tries to desperately connect it to Undertale constantly when LISA is almost the exact opposite of Undertale. There also was that play through of Heart Bound he did and the stream title was "IS THIS UNDERTALE 2?" which caused Piratesoftware to throw a hissy fit on Twitter over it. MatPat's Undertale brainrot era in 2016 was comical.

9:11 the funny thing is he did do a theory on that, just years later. His conclusion was that Thanos could probably tank it.

Actually the pope had Megalovania played for him sometime in the 2020s so there’s a chance he actually played Undertale and may have even gone down the genocide route

I think a big thing that is killing game theory, besides what you mentioned about focusing on lore rather than science, is the fact that culture is more divided today. Back then game theory had plenty of options of popular games that were actually culturally relevant. Mario, Zelda, pokemon, Sonic, assassin’s creed, even FNAF. But there’s only so much Mario, Sonic, and FNAF you can do. Culture moves faster now. People are quicker to move on to the next hot new thing these days. Even huge games don’t have the cultural staying power. The most iconic, recognizable games/characters of today are pretty much the same as they were 10 years ago, and just because something is iconic, doesn’t mean it’s infinitely recyclable. They still do pokemon every now and then, and Minecraft is still big, but to pay the bills now they have to fit into this indie horror niche. Games that only 10 year olds really care about.

This is Bob the builder from 2014 approved!!!

10:04 funny thing is, with the way Deltarune is turning out, Mat might be ending up being right that Sans is from a completely different game, he was just wrong about which one.

1:08 cuts to Mat Pat having mic quality that's 10x better than what's in this vid. No hate lol just funny
