I'm in the UK and couldn't fathom why children as young as 5years are taught to run zig zag or hide from  a person with a gun.  For Americans to consider that the norm is astonishing.

andy murray the tennis player was at the dunblane school the day the shottings happened and he had to hide under a table hes still scarred to this day

Aaah bollocks to the second amendment, Americans need to stop treating the constitution as some kind of holy text, it's bloody ridiculous

For all americans.

The word amendment LITERALLY means to a change / to change.

Here's some stats on school shootings since 2009:-
Canada 2
France 2
Germany 1
Japan 0
Italy 0
UK 0
US 312
And that's just school shootings.
There were 40,000 deaths by firearms in the US last year.
The second amendment wasn't designed for people to be allowed to carry guns on the street, it was designed to rise up against a tyrannical government, but people are shooting each other while the NRA makes millions from the sale of firearms and ammunition and then pays the politicians to keep the laws the same.
It's about money, plain and simple.

hello great reaction

one thing though. you mentioned about knife crime rates, but the US has a higher knife rate than the UK per capita.

I remember they had gun amnesties too.  You could hand in illegal guns and they wouldn't be investigated.

One school shooting in Scotland changed everything over here forever, how anyone can debate positively for the ownership of guns when 16 small children have been murdered is beyond me...

Had to tell my daughter her best friend was murdered in Dunblane, still remember her screaming.  Best thing ever to outlaw hand guns.

i’m Scottish and i  remember Dunblane like it happened yesterday.  The  children that were murdered were only 5 years  old.  The tennnis player Andy Murray was at that school that day.  I admire  little Sophie’s dad  Mick North because   of the snowdrop appeal and second  his wife died from  cancer and she  made him  move from England to  Scotland after she died and to promise to keep Sophie safe and the first time she goes to School she  gets killed by Thomas Hamilton a grown adult and a scout leader who held a grudge with dunblane primary school because  he was running a boys club  that the school banned because of allegations of Pedophillia.  Take care    😘     🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸

as someone who lost their cousin in dunblane, i couldn't be more thankful for our gun laws now (even though it should have always been a law) and even though we lost so many people for no reason whatsoever, they helped change our country. i don't understand how america doesn't think banning guns will stop anything when the proof is right there???

Scotland had Dunblane, Canada had the Montreal Massacre, Australia had Port Arthur….these three western nations reacted to this gun violence and as a result of laws introduced these three nations haven’t seen the same level of gun violence since….I pray someday America just clues in….

I like it when an American tells me I don't understand, I can assure you I do. The second amendment can be................ AMMENDED!

Honestly as a Brit I don't even want a gun.. I don't know anyone who does.. Id rather know my kids are safe in school as someone with social anxiety i would never leave the house with the amount of mass shootings in the US

I was heavily pregnant with my eldest when this happened in ‘96. It was heartbreaking and shocking. It took The Snowdrop Campaign quite a while to change the law though.

It irritates me immensely every time I hear Americans say we have more knife crime.  Our homicide rate with knives is still about a quarter of yours (even adjusted for population) and you have the gun deaths too.  We absolutely don’t have more knife deaths than you, but that’s what is used over there to convince you all to not change the gun laws.

It's not illegal to own a handgun in the UK, btw. You are allowed a permit for a handgun under certain circumstances.  We still have the occasional death from illegal guns, but not enough to force people to vote against gun control. The Act was passed by Parliament under a free vote, and it was overwhelmingly in favour. Charlton Heston was laughed at when he tried to push his agenda at the Oxford Union.

Australia did the same and Germany after 2 shootings. America seems to love guns MORE  than their children!!! If this is wrong WHY haven't things changed?

It took us in the uk one mass shooting, loosing our babie just once to realise our children lives are more important than our need for owning a gun!!!
How many mass shooting will it take in the US to come to that conclusion? 😢

39 "mass" shootings in 2023 so far in the USA. Definition of "mass" is two or more along with other loosely defined criteria. None the less it's out of control.
