Hey! Just wanting to pop down here and say this is a bit of an outdated video with some bad takes and misinformation on certain rings. I am HOPING to re-do this video at a much later date with my updated takes. Thanks for the kind words, the love and your patience. Some of these takes are valid though (Chloranthy in top spot is the best one) ;)

In literally EVERY single game of this sub-genre stamina regen boosting rings/amulets/whatever is automatically OP no matter the build.

Ring of Sacrifice is mainly used to recover lost souls: it prevents the blood pool of being overwritten if you die before gathering your souls. Scales with NG+ cycles then !

Thank you. You don't know how convenient it is that you're making these videos 9 years later and while I'm in my first playthrough.

The reason the wolf ring appears to do nothing is because dark souls 3 poise works completely differently from the other games. Poise does literally nothing most of the time but some attacks or other actions you perform will give you hyper armor frames. While in hyper armor frames you become resistant to having your stance broken which uses your poise stat plus properties of the action itself to calculate the amount of hyper armor you get.

This was the response to the poise domination of dark souls 1 and 2. This makes poise mainly limited to strength users in 3. Eldeb ring also uses this hyper armor system but also added back the passive effects of poise albeit it is quite a nerfed version from older games.

7:36 skip if another comment explained it: in souls series and elden ring theres something called counter damage. It is a percentage based extra damage that activates when you do a thrust type damage to an enemy in window where they do an attack animation. The game this is most visible in is dark souls 2 when you can very easily get counter damage that is why weapons like rapier are broken in that game. Leo ring makes counter damage better. I don't know how effective it is in dark souls 3 tho

the leo ring increases counter thrust damage, so any thrust attack done during the enemies attack animation. it's super strong on turtle builds, especially if you use yhorm's great shield with the lothric knight spear. it's also super strong on the greatlance. but it'd personally put the ring way higher, because it can dish out genuinely disgusting damage

4:01 Hey if you're hollowed in DS3, you can use this ring to have a human appearance. The Fire Keeper has a unique reaction to this as well. So if you wanted max hollowing and wanted to look like a non hollow ashen one, you can.

Still not "useful" but it still has A use.

Damn cant belive someone is still making good DS3 videos

FYI the leo ring buffs thrusting counter attacks aka thrusting attacks you make when an enemy is in its attack animation. Pretty great for shield poking or good timing with a ts, etc

I must be that 4th person that loves bows, the hawk ring is awesome

My ranking GOAT is at it again, thank god you came up in the middle of my miserable cold.

I'm glad you're still making ranking videos, you make em really well !

Also the Calamity ring is S tier what are you on about

If you die and put on a ring of sacrifice after, then die again it saves your original bloodstain. I always keep at least on in my inventory just in case I screw up and have a lot of souls on my bloodstain

Silver cat ring, jumping into the gorge in the undead settlement. Useful for randomizer runs, if you don't have spook or the key.

Also useful for the tower where you get the chloranthy ring, if you're not smart enough to take off your armor.

The cat ring is very useful for irithyl dungeon skip and other speedrunning stuff however it is outshined by the spook sorcery because of how earlier you can get it on top of it being available for one of the starting classes

HAVEL AT 48 come on man
Like I get it but here’s the thing. Vitality is one of the worst ideas they’ve had alongside adaptability, and this one directly counteracts that

I didn't watch your videos for a couple of months, and holy wow, your audio quality improved! Congrats on 1k

I genuinely love your enthusiasm

BRO 1K FOLLOWERS IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU MY GUY

How the Leo ring works: thrusting weapons have a counter system in which they deal I think it's 1.5x damage to an enemy while they're in the middle of an attack

So basically hitting an enemy with a thrusting weapon while they're actively attacking will do more damage than normal and the Leo ring increases the boost you get from the counter hit
