Fixed-wings not your bag? Got to have a wokka in your choppa?
Well look no further. I have compiled the cream (and horrible sour milk) of the Amiga helicopter game crop - a comprehensive (yes, I didn't include the original Gunship) A to Z list (or Super Huey) featuring all games where rotors are the main draw.
Hover! across 3D landscapes.
Pop-up! to blast enemies.
Auto-rotate! when you switch the power off.

Zeewolf 2 is a massive improvement on the a1200 to the original.

Used to spend hours on apocalypse, been looking for it for years!

Loads of good games! ThunderHawk’s intro was awesome for the time. Sweet memories indeed. :( Tempted to fire my old 1200 up now.

Really nice coverage, I've had a craving for 3D helicopter games recently! Thank you for putting this together.

Nice roundup, but there are lot more --- even a couple with FMV = Desert Apache and Blue Thunder 😉

Zeewolf 2 was a great game, just wish they had done a 3rd game which made use of AGA, some extra ram and faster CPUs

Hey. Looking for an arcade game I once played. It was a side-scrolling, shoot em up. The vehicle was an attack helicopter and it appeared to be quite a standard shooting game... except, for what appeared to be, a bonus stage where the helicopter would travel at mach speeds and it would be suddenly chased by speeding jet fighters accompanied by a thumping rock track... does anyone here know what game that might be?

Loved both Zeewolf games, played them to the end, so did with Thunderhawk. Coala was very good, and of course Silkworm, better than the arcade actually. Swiv was not my kind of game for some reason, but was very impressive in that the whole game was a continuous stage never pausing as it was loading while the action was going on. Gunship, I never liked for some reason, Apocalypse was basically Choplifter on steroids and Seek and destroy was too tough after a certain point. Good games, good memories, excellent video.

I'll be honest, I don't like your 'multiple games in one video' reviews, of which you've done several. The patented Amipal "load it up, press a few buttons and see what happens" approach isn't great, and you can clearly tell which games you've already invested some time in. It doesn't tell us much about the other games, other than it runs on whatever hardware you're using at the time, and that you haven't bothered to research them. The hardware reviews are generally much better, the "AB3D2 WIP" game reviews were good, so maybe stick to the "one game, one video" format? 😉
