In this video I teach you how to play Shadowdark as a player by walking through a disastrous goblin heist. We cover torches, checks, combat, magic, death rolls, and why you probably should not threaten jewelers.

I know these aren’t your best performing videos but please don’t stop with this content. You capture so much of what we love about this hobby and given time I don’t doubt you’ll have as strong a community supporting your ttrpg content as those of us who love your retro handheld content. Love your spin and your voice around this passion that so many of us have 🎲📝🎭

Leaving a comment for the algo, this is a very effective and high-quality explanation of Shadowdark and should be recommended to every TTRPG player out there. Cheers!

This isn’t just a great intro to Shadowdark, it’s a great intro to RPG’s in general. Thanks for taking the time, the visual aids were great!

I'm a very old, original First Gen D&D player, I played it with friends in the back of one of my friends fathers store in a tiny not well lit room for years. The people I met and played with then are still some of my best friends, and for that I'm grateful to Gary Gygax for making this amazing world and enriching my life because of it. Ever since I've been trying out all of the clones and this one has slipped under my radar, thanks for the heads up on it Mr. Dweeb, I'll get a group of old farts together and we'll try it out, it looks like a fun, simple game to learn and play 😎

This was one of the best Shadowdark instruction videos I've encountered. It's entertaining and explains how to play perfectly...

So happy you continued this series! Alas poor Yarpgit, we knew him (not very) well....

your character drawings are amazing! So clean and minimal, yet with so much character.

Man this looks so fun! I've played a lot of DnD but I've always hated how complicated it is, even after I've played so much of it. This seems a lot more up my alley, and I love difficult games.

Just downloaded all the free shadow dark content from The Arcane Library.

Hoping to run a fun oneshot ASAP.

Your recent video has pushed me to this! Please continue making this content even if it doesn't perform the best

Your art style for all your dicedweeb videos is so cool! I want an entire monster tome for a ttrpg in dicedweeb style!

Great video! Shadowdark is a special game and I am so glad it continues to find new players ❤

Coming from someone that also makes content, this video is soooo good. You explain concisely and with intention throughout the entirety of your example gameplay in a chain of events that feels natural but perfectly segways through each of your points. Also professional quality with audio, video, and cinematography. Great job and thank you!

More RPG talk plz! More DiceDweeb! Hearing you talk about this stuff is fun, and on top of that we get to enjoy more of your lovely art.

Also RIP Yarpgit. We barely knew ye.

Love finding a new TTRPG! Thanks!

Wow, this breakdown of Shadow Dark is amazing! I love how you balance the story, mechanics, and that ‘rule of cool’ approach. Definitely inspired me to roll up a goblin thief of my own.

Proud to have been a funder of this, I think I came in half way through when I found out about it.

I have a running character graveyard full of the poor unsuspecting player characters created by my former group. We were playing a game I built, but I apparently had the same kind of game philosophy as in this game. Almost instant death being possible, having to roll up a new character and jump back in, was part of the fun.
