"Beat Sabre is a meditative experience" I completely agree and this is why I love playing it at the end of the day - gives me a chance to turn my brain off

The “don’t think” one is really helpful actually. I find I play best when my mind has melted a little lol. I even play with my eyes unfocused sometimes 😂

Another tip: MAKE SURE TO STRETCH. This is especially important once you start playing faster levels. This is a workout and you can hurt yourself.

Your “dancing around like an idiot” is probably why some of us watch!

i use beatsaber as a workout to help me lose some weight so i pretty much and and sing my way through all the songs on hard mode and i’m very happy with how i play

I am just a mom trying to whoop my kid. But i am old school i research and read and watch. I used a lot of your tips and so i will be ready for him. I i have only been playing a week but i am very competitive and i was frustrated because i was stuck on easy. I am now on normal with sped up songs and im a week i will be whooping his butt lol. I got this. Thank you !!!

Another useful tip for the Quest 2 tracking: The cameras on the Quest sometimes get a little smudged, it's handy to take a lens cleaning cloth and wipe the camera lenses off to help with tracking.

"don't think" - I figured that out within the first hour or two of playing beat saber. I do better letting the music flood my brain instead of thinking about the blocks, it feels weird but also incredibly relaxing

@DunkdaHunk 5 years ago

I've played for 4 hours now and the leap from hard to expert is pretty substantial compared to the other leaps. I didn't even think about using practice mode and the no fail option. I'm gonna go through one song at a time in expert slowing ramping up to 100% speed. This has been a great video!

@Raisedone 5 years ago

The 'don't think' one really spoke to me. Whenever I start thinking consciously during a really hard song I immediately mess up. While when I just 'panic-crazy-go-for-it' it turns out ok. Amazing. :'-)

Something I found kind of interesting is that I was able to develop my sight reading skills and general playing a lot faster than my friends who didn't have any music or drumming background like I do. I'm not expert at either of these things for sure, but some of the skills I developed in those areas kinda translated over to beat saber. Just something to think about!

Honestly, your dancing has helped me understand the tracks so much better! After watching you, I’m convinced that much of Beatsaber is meant to be played as a dance.

@Shem717 5 years ago

I gotta say, your dancing, to me, is quite elegant. It’s a wonderful mix of beauty and skill. I really like that “flow” tip.

@a8lg6p 4 years ago

This is what is so great about Beat Saber and other rhythm action games: They are engineered to induce a flow state.

@Subatomicfish 5 years ago

As per tip #6, one of my favorite parts of beat saber is how I don’t tend to practice the same song over and over again (except for over the top stupid hard levels of course), instead I just go play a bunch of other ones and come back to it eventually to find that I’m able to do it super well! Grinding on a single level can be fun, but it’s not a thing I’d want to do for every decently difficult level, so it makes me happy that it’s relatively easy to develop a sense for lots of different levels just by playing what you can! I also consider this and the flow element to essentially be a form of fantasy fulfillment because it’s insane that we’re able to do these things at such high speed even when they’re so complex, but when you’re actually doing it it’s relatively easy just because you’ve built up the muscle memory for a lot of common patterns across many different levels.
