Nice Greg. I love drills that force you into correct body position (incl moving your center across the skis and down the hill) without knowing it. My favorite for this was the javelin turn, lifting the downhill/outside tip and placing it across the uphill/inside tip, which magically forces your hip into the new turn, and your new outside ski on edge..

Early pressure’ is a problematic term, especially if someone adopts it as a fixed mindset. Instead, the focus should be on initiating an early edge change and positioning yourself correctly, so that pressure can be applied progressively and naturally through the turn.

If you focus on ‘early pressure,’ you often end up pushing your center of mass too far into the turn too soon, which can lead to collapsing onto the inside ski.

I have "a friend" who can make good c shaped turns but slips into z shaped turns because he is able to control speed better.  What should I tell "my friend?"

I wonder if this is what I need to help with my issue in pow. I like to do Z shape turns a lot in steep zone but that gives me a lot of trouble in powder. Especially when they turn into crud/soft mogul and whenever I try to rotate sideway quickly to hit the mogul I flip. But if I uplift to turn by getting out of the snow my turns are slow and tiring. Also I feel that when I push down and sink into the snow and when the ski tries to come back up, I get thrown into the backseat then the ski starts to speed up and couldn't pull myself back into my stance. What do you think have caused that and how do I fix it?
