Since we talkin secrets I like this method over horizontal rocky structure or pre spawn when they hold at the first break from spawn ground. small jerkbaits and weight them till they sink slightly. I buy some jdm ones that are already tuned but the rapala xrap 04 and 06 are good. I’ve caught huge gills off spawning beds doing this too. Everything from 15ft to 3ft can be worked over with this method as long as you tune the bait right.
