Badger makes his videos with Source/Source2 and a +$25,000 motion capture suit.
Born in Canada but lived in the US for most of his life and was in the Naval ROTC for Marines at his college and graduated from his Officer class, but decided it wasn't for him.
Also Antistasi is only one game mode. You can do almost anything in this game.

They were arrested on suspicion of espionage but not in the US it was in Greece which is arguably worse since the devs are Chzecs so it probably looked more like some balkan group scoping out greek installations for something.

Just to clarify, the Bohemia devs didn't get arrested in the US, and weren't doing anything around US military bases..... it was Greek military bases they were taking pictures of.... but it seems the Greeks have similar rules around taking photos of military installations.

42:16, the Comanche project got canceled in 2004 because the military could just upgrade the Apache to the same specs cheaper than it would cost to build the Comanche.

As an Arma noob (only 1000h), I can tell you this video barely scratches the surface.
Pretty much anything there is to learn or do in the military? Just add "arma tutorial" to it, and you will find a video.
Heck, this game taught me about blood pressure, heart rates, when to give epinephrine or adenosine and when to remove a tourniquet.
Or even how to adjust my scope to compensate for the Coriolis effect and ambient air density using a ballistic calculator (ATragMX/Kestrel) in-game.

Genuinely would recommend more of Badger’s content, it’s so good

31:10 Yeah he uses 'Microsoft' when talking about the IVAS because Microsoft developed them for the US military.

Senator Armstrong was the main villain in Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

The branch of Arma that the US military uses is Arma 2, I trained on the equipment at Quantico. They have a weapons range with simulated missions and cqb as well as vehicle simulators for Humvees.

And he didn’t even go over ACE…

Also, antistasi is just a modded gamemode, if you want to know the scale of this game further.

God bless you sir and the United States 🇺🇸 military

seeing an A10 in action in game is STILL a sight to see and hear.

Antistasi is just the 0.1% of the Arma 3 Modding Scene. You can go full Tier 0.5 CAG Seal Team 6-7 to a bunch of Germans storming British Trenches in WW1 to Stormtroopers sieging a Rebel Outpost in some alien planet to using Pirate ships to fight Spanish Galleons in the Caribbean.

You have to watch Arma 3 Spec Ops curated by a Zeus like the ones OperatorDrewski shows.

3:00 the Russian badger uses a variety of models from the steam workshop and sites like sfm lab which often come with hand poses to hold items they come with or you know badger has the painstakingly put the hands on to the trigger and hold it correctly he even imports the models

some of the most dedicated Arma3 channels on Youtube are Rubixraptor and Cypherius.
they use several different mods and great editing skills to tell so many stories.
from real life history to Halo to SCP to Star Wars to Warhammer to Half Life to Stalker, the amount of genres to choose is immense.

5:30 Badger's video animations are made with a combination of a full motion capture rig (suit, gloves, headset, face tracking), physics simulation software, and manual animation in Blender and Source 2 engines.

Hey man.  Do you know I often come to this video because I love the reactions but you’re someone who knows from military experience and it’s a joy for you to see the fun and the accuracy of it.  I love your videos man, keep it up 👍

I played this game for a couple of years when it was Operation Flashpoint.  I had and still have and still have all 3 disks. I lost my serials I took it with me in 2005 to Iraq. We were training one day and my Combat Engineer Squad was patrolling on foot as part of our training regimen. As we walked I noticed a rock with a perfect circle like protrusion.  It was a helmet.  I started firing dropped to a knee on my way to prone. Yelling out reflexively,  Contac, 1 o'clock,  20 meters.  I even copied the tone and cadence perfectly.  I hadn't realized how much I was actually training  when playing this game. My friends who tried it were dismayed by having done everything correctly only to get popped by a single round from someone they never saw.

When I fist loaded up Arma and expected and improved AI, I wanted my money back. Eventually I settled into Arma. I just couldn't put a unit on one side of a map and expect it to find a path to my side any more.

The best look at what Arma 3 is actually like (also actual combined arms tactics being used lol instead of just Call of Duty rushing enemies) is SovietWomble’s nine part Arma Bullshittery and five part Arma Antistasi (a separate game mode) playlists. Those are gold, and if you reacted to those that’d be incredible

Edit: Best quote from, I think Antistasi Bullshittery part 3, where they are playing as resistance movement against the Americans forces and the Americans send 6 Blackhawks to attack them:

“Someone in my chat just asked how it feels that we’ve created an insurgency that elicits a bigger response than Bin Laden did.”

33:32  I just realized that his laugh is actually very similar to Badger's laugh lol. Like, side by side, I can barely tell the difference.
