I miss this hoodie

Marcus Gilmore is one of the most organically fluid and creative drummers to come also endorse  soulful grooves as a part of his vocabulary. Coming out of a hand drumming tradition may be his most significant resource for his ability to hold down a groove and solo in and out of time. Thanks for this important segment. Continue to inspire.

Could you do a lesson on Dan Weiss?

Holy poly rhythms dude! Thanks, my brain is malfunctioning.

You who love drumming, how can one Not love this guy! Check out his excellent 80/20 courses and meet up with your inner drummer. ;)

Excellent lesson -- I will start working on some of this material. After about 9 minutes, you got into some stuff which can easily be used or comping behind soloists when swinging in 5/8.

Extremely good Lesson, sick playing!!

Absolutely loved this lesson and already subscribed, thanks man.

fantastic stuff. Thanks

very good!

groove fantastic minute 1:36

Coming out of Max Roach's Third Eye solo.

Amazing lesson Nate

Hey Nate, great stuff man. What is that wood accessory on your hi hat?

Yo man, what ride have you got?

Just curious, why you starting rudiments left handed?

So when you're moving on to triplet based ideas, you're allowing the feet to pull towards triplets too? Is this a conscious choice? I'm still on the preliminary exercises, and I've tried to fight to keep my feet in straight eighths, but I can't help but feel like allowing the ostinato to pull is more musical.

you don't sound at all like Marcus. This lesson is waste of time
