I've been reading the 70s-90s Tony, and my god is he a different beast entirely. He's a well meaning guy who refuses to kill, refuses to give warmongers weapons, invests into clean energy, and wants to build a future for people in space. Heck when some space goddess comes to him to preach about the evils of science, his entire refutation is that yes science has ended lives, but it has also saved many more lives and he won't stop trying until he can use his technology to save everyone.
I've really grown to really like that Tony, the one who does try to make things better as un-intrusively as possible. Even the Armor Wars arc got wild, because the Government made a nuclear equipped battle suit meant for suppressing riots.
Sooo... wait a minute, Superior Iron Man is just Tony with reversed morals, but his intelligence and capabilities remain the same? This means that Tony could cure blindness, but apparently just chooses not to?
Honestly, I think Iron Man's flaws are probably his most realistic quality. I mean, he's a chronic alcoholic because Howard Stark introduced him to it as a child believing it would make Tony more of a man. He constantly battles the stress of being the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar industry and being a superhero, whose identity is publicly known. And having a heart ailment. I think it's only natural that Tony slips up every once in a while.
