When I first became interested in pipe smoking, I quickly realised just how much information was out there. Forums, videos and articles all seemed to assume you already knew the basics, making it difficult to know where to start.

I like you! No BS and plain language without reams of buzzwords. Iv been a cigar smoker for a long, long time (I'm 60 odd) and took up a pipe (as well!) a few months ago and I really enjoy it. I totally agree that there are lots of ways to skin a cat, load and smoke a pipe and light a cigar and we should all just do what works for us. Good video! Keep it up! Respect.

Great starter video. I have been pipe smoking on and off for fifty odd years and there’s always stuff to learn. Right at the end of your video, you restricted the airflow by using two fingers over the top of the bowl - a great tip for keeping your pipe going if it feels like it’s going out. I call this ‘drawing’ and you can gently regulate or modify the airflow to coax your pipe into life if it’s flagging. Another tip which you might try while you smoke - draw the smoke into your mouth and send it out through your nose. Don’t inhale it into your lungs whilst doing this - just kind of cycle it out - it’s a game-changer for flavour. Personally, it’s how I always smoke and the only way that I taste the tobacco. There is a group called the pipe smokers forum which is excellent for discussing all things pipe related - give it a go, I heartily recommend it

I’ve been smoking pipes for a while now, and I can say that this video is very educational, particularly for newbies. The selection of tobaccos was great, and I still smoke those to this day. Thank you very much for your time and for sharing great content.
