Teddy calling SCP newgen horror is kinda crazy

"New gen" 😭

4:37 New gen is honestly a wild statement when its been around long enough to vote at this point

“New gen horror” dawg scp bout as old as you 🥀

Unc doesn't realize what is Unc lmao.

Pack it up bro. You need to have at least class 3 clearance to watch this video

I love scps. They can range from all these high level threats, to a coffee machine, to just some guy with no control over his ability to hop dimensions lol

I'll be the paragraph guy

SCPs are anomalies (basically anything that does something it's not supposed to do or is generally "weird" in the context of regular reality) and they can be anything. Creatures, objects, dimensions, concepts, people, ANYTHING. Within the context of the universe the SCP foundation exists to capture these anomalies to prevent them from being discovered, exploited, causing havoc, or being exposed to the public. If you're wondering why they don't just destroy the anomalies, for one they don't know what could happen if they do that with some of these and two a good number of them can't be destroyed at all (like 682 and 096 seen in this video).

Outside of the universe, SCP isn't really new gen horror, it's actually even older than the oldest creepypastas starting all the way back in the mid 2000s. You were right about it being a collective writing project but they have a very strict writing process and community that acts as quality control, this ai video didn't really do any of the ones talked about here justice.

If you plan on going further into SCP I highly recommend TheVolgun's "A modern introduction into SCP" video.

"new gen" you can stop larping bro🥀

Calling SCP "new gen horror" is a diabolical saying.

19:14 "Just blink really really quickly" You were never a straight A student, were you?

Quick Explanation of the rankings:

Primary -

Safe: Easy to contain because the foundation knows a lot about the scp

Euclid: Mid difficulty, most scps fall into this category.

Keter: Exceedingly hard because the foundation either has no idea what it can do, or has minimal means to contain it.

Secondary -

Thaumiel: Used to contain other Scp's

Apollyon: Cannot be contained

Neutralized: No longer anomalous, either by purpose or accident

Tertiary -

Archon: Best left not contained for one reason or another

Explained: so mainstream and understood that they can no longer be recognized as anomalies, as they can be proven with science.

Esoteric: Very rare, to the fact where I don't really know what it means, most people don't either.

Decommissioned: An old classification used as a wall of shame for what not to do when writing an entry on the SCP forums.

Its important to note that scp lore isnt centralized in any way and has many diffrent universes and varients so although scp 173 can multiply in one lore varient doesnt mean it can multiply in all of them

Some less dangerous scps would be cool. Since scps are a large variety of things like an infinite ikea, a cat thats bottom half is in another dimension, a flesh that hates and box of paper dragons.

The SCP foundation began as a writing project for a group of high schoolers. It was cherished on the internet in a similar fashion to how the backrooms was and made into a giant forum of sorts where SCPs could be posted. Most numbers are assigned at random number specifically for the anomalous designation except for the title of “SCP-001” which are SCPs that usually relate to some humongous anomalous event or entity a lot of them relate to the founding of the SCP foundation itself or I believe are some of the earliest enties to have been found while most others are world ending threats or entities that have been selected for the designation of “SCP-001”
SCP stands for Secure, Contain, Protect as the researchers there are well scientists first and they research the anomalies to determine how to secure/contain them, if they can be used for helping the world, or discovering how they can protect normal ppl from them.

I hope this helps

Calling it new gen is pissing me off

7:02 in one story he's the manifestation of the concept of the state between life and death (alongside other concepts because he was basically a thoughtform made material and became a god beyond comprehension when they tried to destroy him by wiping him from human thought), in another story he's the steed of the Horseman of Death (which in that story was an eight-year-old girl who would passively drive people into homicidal insanity but they'd die if they injured or attempted to kill her), and in another story he's the child of the Scarlett King who is basically Uber-Satan and exists beyond all creation and desires only to eradicate all of life because he despises his own existence (another one of the King's children, or in some stories the King himself, are destined to destroy the entire universe upon his awakening, which was heralded by the birth of his seven children, one of whom was 682). So yeah he might not technically be "living" in a deeper sense but he is sentient and aware which I would say makes him "alive"

if you're confused by the sheer number of conflicting stories, SCP is like that because it's collaborative and community-driven, there's no concrete or defined canon to allow for greater creative freedom, though there are many shared and widely accepted ideas that you'll find almost anywhere, like what SCP stands for or who the O5 Command is or what an MTF does, and some writers create their own specific headcanon or shared canon that follows a specific story and that other people can build upon. There is the Series 0 canon which actually bases its story solely upon the original article of SCP 173, so it's completely unrecognisable to most other stories because even without canon there are still these very clearly defined ideas that have stuck around.

Usually for SCP I'd recommend The Volgun's channel. It's usually the vids with the best quality and you don't find made up shit like some other channels do. However, I don't know if the format would do well on your channel. Maybe? They can be long and not very dynamic, I personally find them interesting that way, and I would totally watch you react to his vids, but I can understand if it's not for everyone. That said, I think you definitely should try to check one of his vid at least once.
There are also short films on Youtube, I think those ones would be fun in any case. I especially like the mini-series "There is no Antimemetics Division" or the live action for SCP-049

Btw, The Volgun has an introduction video to the SCP foundation, a bit old now, but the information still stands today. I highly recommend you to check it, at least on your own.

The Volgun and Mr.Illustrated are some great channels that do SCP content, they are pretty good intros.
