The wind screen pieces are brilliant!  I have that canteen and stove but wow, using that radio pouch is pretty genius too.  Nice set up!

I use a Swiss Ranger Volcano stove kit, highly suitable for day trips and short bush walks in my country for a quick coffee or soup ,due to the copious amounts of fallen leaves and twigs.
Greetings from Australia.

Use 2 of the Swiss bottles in winter. Ideal volume and they are extremely tough. Have a homemade alcohol burner similar to yours but have fire rope instead of carbon felt in it. It does just boil one cup of water for coffee exactly, very handy when you are trying to conserve fuel. These bottles are often overlooked and in my opinion are among the best you can get with the plastic Cold War surplus bottles.

have the same canteen, its a great kit, great video

👍👍👍 a very nice setup 😊.
I have a very similar one .. M84 Water Bottle w Cup, Esbit Stove, etc.
I particularly like that Bottle Holder .. I made my own from Synthetic Strapping and which does what it's supposed to.
I keep the Esbit Stove and Fuel type separate .. reason (and to answer you) later.
The Belt Harness I made for my M84 carries the Bottle, Nesting Cup, a Lid and a Silicon Pad cut to fit and which comes in handy for under the Burner being used at the time or hot Cup when cooking on 'heat sensitive' surfaces.
The Esbit Stove goes into a separate Pouch, together with a sealed box of Esbit Fuel Tabs therein for 'just in case', Folding Wind Screen, Silicon Pad cut to fit under the Stove, two nesting Alcohol Burners .. Liquid and Gel, Bic Lighter and Matches.
The Burners .. an Energy Drink Can derivative filled with Glass Wool and a Metal Glass Jar Lid, nest into each other.
Lastly, a Folding Wire Tripod for just in case I opt for an additional separate Burner while using said Setup.
I carry the Acohol Fuel separate so as to minimise any possible contamination.
Solid Fuel: Here in Switzerland, Esbit Fuel is legal (the Swiss being a sensible, no-nonsense, not a 'nanny-minding' Nation .. I'm an 'Ausländer' South African 😏) legal and available, albeit mainly at specialist outdoor outlets. For that reason, I opt for Alcohol-based Liquid and Gel Fuel ('Brennspriritus' / 'Sicherheitsbrennpaste') which is cheaper and available at my local Migros Supermarket, or just about anywhere else.
'Explosives' 🤔 .. any school boy budding chemist can have fun with common Garden Fertilizer and Diesel Fuel Oil to name one .. so .. 🙄.
Thanks for sharing.
As I'm babysitting the little Malti-Poo 💕 today, I think I'll rustle up later, after her morning walk, a 'brunch' using the above-mentioned as a base, on my 3rd floor flat balcony. The view is not bad .. part of the Rhine in sight less than 200-odd metres away 😊.
Take care ..

SAMPO matches?!! I didn't know they were still made....
I print off older style Sampo labels to use in my WW2 SA display (JR50)

God to see another fan of the M84 canteen set too. They are a really good design.

UK banned hexamine some two or three years ago now. It was used as a starter ingredient at the Manchester arena terrorist attack, but again, no idea how that could work!

Nice set up, I would add a bigger side pouch and include a few coffee sachets and some water purification tabs to make it a grab and go brew set.

Esbit is convenient in the right circumstances. Can't spill it. Don't leave it in your car on a hot day😅
I don't like the taste of plastic from the canteen, so I just use the cup. Kinda disappointed about that- it's a perfect size.

I think they have banned hexamine blocks in the UK, ............in case we start fires with them.

I love the size of the kit. Only thing i don't like (my personal opinion)
Not a fan of exbit.
Being a old vet i was given tablets in the military to heat food.
They are so useless couldn't even warm coffee.
In extremely cold weather i don't believe you could carry enough to cook ramen.
I went with alcohol. Very light easy to use. Plus alcohol has many uses.
That's my experience in America in the mountains.
Love your small stove.  Trust a soldier exbit will fail when you need it most.
It lacks BTUs.
