Hey folks! The Abstract Shapemon category comes from a fun subscriber-submitted bracket we did live on Twitch and YouTube a few weeks back. If you're interested in seeing the first group of submissions, have a look at the video with the same title on the DeliciousJames channel.

If you’re interested in participating in future brackets like this, check out the Stream Chat section of our discord (linked in the video description)

Abstract Shapemon is way better when it is a necessary 3 shapes and not just a triangle.

Somebody let me down

I adore abstract shapemon, but I really think it should be a set 3 shapes. The single shape questions, save for one, were kinda mediocre.

I think correct color is just as important as shape, in identifying Abstract Shapemon.

I thought for sure that the teal triangle was Celesteela. That thing was the color of the shine on Armaldo's kneepads.

3:25  Omg is so wild hearing Sophist say “Editor, green screen car crash.” in someone else’s video

I feel like a lot of these needed the full 3 shapes.
They all felt so close to genuinely trying to be the thing in question but intentionally obscure. Cosmoem totally should have had a black circle in the center, that Frosmoth one would have been a lot better with antenna, etc.
What makes it cool is people trying to actually do it, not just being tricky.

They just be putting Chris in situations

Its such a shame that Chris perished in that burning building 😢

It's strange having Sophist be the most normal person in the group

I would like to ammend a statement I previously made. I would absolutely watch entire videos of just abstract shapemon, but curated so they're actually good ones. There were a couple... not great ones this time.

I really liked abstract shape Mon when it was first introduced but a lot of these felt TOO abstract/vague.

I'd say 2 shapes for Shapemon lv 3 is the sweet spot. Nobody found any 1-shape

Part of what’s nice of the abstract shapes last time was it makes you think and it’s satisfying when you get it. These ones are just frustrating, especially the ones with just one shape, made just to confuse and not answerable.

Deliberately using fewer than 3 shapes to exclude details is just unappealing. If you want to go that route, just keep adding shapes at every wrong guess until they get it (for fewer and fewer points).

Shapemons last time were way better, I think this one kinda missed the original idea, there were some shapes that are just "yeah whatever... that's a really distorted Lucario with the wrong colors, just squint your eyes and you'll see it" nah.

The shapemon question really loose their charm when people try to hide the pokemon they where making. That would be like me doing one green circle and saying yeah that's obviously Snorlax because he is round.

I really think that it needs to be 3 shapes, no more no less. The single ones were leaning on too abstract and easy to mistake for others.

Me: No way Sophist is actually in this video
3:28 Sophist: Green screen car crash
Me: Never mind that’s him

I really like abstract shapemon but I definitely think it shouldn't allow below 3 shapes. A lot of the ones here just kinda felt like they were trying to make it look as little like the pokemon as possible rather than actually trying to make it look like the pokemon with only 3 shapes.
