The "investor bros" have a literally vested interest in convincing everyone this will last forever.

i just like hoarding treasure and laying on top of it like a dragon

During Covid, I sold almost all of my comic collection and paid off my house. I still read comic books every day. I'm just debt free and not a hoarder lol

Being mad at the notion of cards going for MSRP again... is a huge red flag. Thanks for making me feel better about selling a bunch of valuable singles I had recently at a card show. Its helping to fund my dream recording studio. Im also very lucky I have someone matching what I sold, so that was a big incentive - but even without that, you make it sound so easy. I'm sick of the drama of finding the perfect time to sell - it just feels like arrested development wallstreet and its gross.

People always think a bubble is forever until it pops. Thinking things will constantly go up forever is a pretty naïve take, that’s not how economics works. These guys are acting like they weren’t alive in 2008.

NE just gives me car dealership salesman vibes. Not for me.

7:28 Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s scarce. And probably won’t hold value long term.. well put! Couldn’t agree more

Him saying he’s really good friends with Nostalgia Nomics speaks volumes.

Hypothetically, if I pulled a gold Lucario EX, it would immediately be traded for E-reader holos.

Nostalgia nomics is an idiot, he’s the same guy who attacks people’s looks and calls them poor if they disagree with his “investment bro” outlook on Pokémon

i was totally guilty for giving in to the FOMO but ive learned my lesson and im buying singles i really want and in Japanese for lower prices and better quality

I only buy Pokemon at MSRP when I can find it at the store. I’m not even thinking about selling.

Thought process of scalpers: I have a million of theoretical dollars because I have 15 destined rival boxes. IM RICH!!"

What Brian is trying to say is, “ if you’re not listening to me, you’re wrong”.

To be honest, this whole scalper crap is just forced me to lean in to a different hobby. I put my Pokémon collection off for right now, and I simply buy single cards that are lightly played that I love. I think it’s disgusting where the hobby has gone. I think scalpers ruined this hobby and I absolutely refused to take partake until it changes. There’s so many other things to collect. There’s so many other things to be excited about this world is not short of fandom’s so until the scalpers eat a dick and go bankrupt, I will not be buying any sealed Pokémon product from anyone but pokemon and we all know that’s almost impossible so other fandoms and hobbies get my money.

Your comment about scarcity really makes me appreciate my very small collection of vintage. Actual product that was around when I was a kid that my parents could never afford. It took me a while to build.

My thoughts on your comments Kyra,

1. The reason people people like Brian and Nostalgia-nomics shill so hard is bc the more people that jump on the hype train, the more the product goes up in value. You can bet the youtube investor bros will be the first ones to dump their "investment" when the markets ACTUALLY corrects. This is the same reason the villianize you and other collectors in the space. Bc normals are just grabbing a few things here and there and waiting it out. If everyone followed your advice, the market would crash and they'd lose their butts.

2. I cant help but wonder who exactly the self proclaimed "long term investors" of recent sets intend to sell these products to in 5-10yrs since the cycle won't be able to repeat as young collectors now cant get any product to open and are QUICKLY losing interest in the hobby, therefore they won't have and nostalgia for pokemon when they have adult money in the future.

Sorry for the long post lol. As per usual, appreciate your videos.

Brian was cool in the beginning, but then he stopped dropping some product at msrp because it was too much work to fight bots and some people complained out of frustration  A lot of the other stores still drop some product at MSRP for their Customers.  I just don’t see what he does good for the community.

I miss the days when the TCG was appreciated more for the cards themselves vs the money and investments. Sure I enjoy pulling a high-value card for the binder, mainly cause I don’t have to buy it lol, and adding value to my collection but I don’t collect with the intent to sell; I have been a fan of Pokemon for over 25 years and enjoy collecting all aspects of it. I completely agree with you that this is a trading card game first and the point is to collect, trade, and battle which is what drew me more into the hobby as I got older.

The whole investor side of Pokemon content nowadays is so very exhausting. I very much appreciate the chill content like this that is more focused on the collecting and hobby side. Your videos about cards under a certain value, for example, have been super helpful in filling spots I am missing in binders. Keep up the content fellow broke ass Timmy 😂

we are all happy when we see this guy loose...and all of his invester bro. MSRP and fans, keep it up! We will win in the end. Those greedy bastard won't win at the end
