Despite the loss, we start the episode with the positives, including Auston Matthews and Kirill Marchenko continuing to generate offence, Easton Cowan's great play, and Sergei Bobrovsky once again looking solid. With John Tavares struggling to start the season, is it time to consider switching up the second line, or are they just snake bit? We discuss that and some more news from around the league.

Good to see Marchenko get his first goal and it was a Beauty, Matthews too, Bob played good again but you cant win scoring 2 goals a game.

McKenna needs to start shooting the puck more when he gets his opportunities instead of looking for the perfect pass

McKenna needs to be with Matthews and Marchenko. Tavares cant skate and Nylander is an enigma shift to shift. Nylander is the hardest player to play with, Nylander has never created consistent chemistry with anyone in his career. Those 2 line mates do not suit McKenna.

Ottawas goalie was exceptional

I’d like to see how McKenna players with Matthews and Marchenko on that LW. Give him a little more TOI and better complimentary players and see how he does. Move him up, move Cowan up on the 2nd line to try and spark JT and Nylander, and then move Roslovic down to the 3rd for some depth scoring.

the 3rd line is a checking line and Cowen fits that perfect ...the only place for Mckenna is the first line with Matthews or the 4th line to really shelter him

I was thinking the same thing last night. Switch Cowen and McKenna for the next 15 games or so. At least Sissons and Paul can stand up to anyone taking a cheap shot at Gavin.

I'm a new fan ..just love how Toronto fans keep being tormented by the Ballard's curse 😂😂😂..I think they traded the wrong Matthews...just like Brady noise gone from the sens 😂😂

I agree with Rob on Dylan Larkin. He deserved to be booed by the Wings fan base. He’s their captain and he’s bailing on them. Weasel!

McKenna on the first line, Cowan on the second line and Roslovic on the third line. Pair Ekman-Larsson with Raddysh.

@Tyguyhi12 1 day ago

Ye think its time to maybe put mckenna on the 3rd line , give cowan that second line spot for few games

21:00 JT usually needs 4-5 games to get going so based on the short preseason , I’ll start worrying next week 😂

@wilfredwitzke2607 1 day ago

at least the leafs are skating and putting effort in might fight for a wildcard

@sh.ray.81 1 day ago

The coach has not put the right lines together. He thinks the old horses will lead the way but they won't. He needs McKenna more than he knows. He better use him on pp1 and hope performs.

@Michael-h3j8y 1 day ago

it is the sens stanley cup final for them.

This is a breath of fresh air after listening to Sid whine constantly.

Leafs hit Six Posts in last nights game, they could have had at least one point out of it, but sometimes it's just the way puck bounces shit happens.
Freaking Out over the first three games when there was only 2 Split Squad Pre Season Games with Ten new players. Time to chill out Smokin' Buds.

44 or 43 have been on the ice for every goal against except 1.... half the goals against where with both of them on the ice. Why the heck are the 2 non defenders on the ice with mckenna and willy who also cant defend? Its not an individual player issue its a coach without the good sence to surround willy and mckenna with some defense.
