Came here for a quick tip on sewing stretch fabric. Needless to say, I didn’t get a quick tip… but rather got much more from your fabulous lesson on different stitches and when to use etc.

Incredibly useful information! Thank you so much! I am on my first sewing project in 25 years after rescuing my sewing machine from the basement. The athleisure brands sold in the US have become crazy expensive, so I am making my own leggings. I picked a crazy hard stretch knit to sew my first pair of leggings. Now I know why this black camo patterned material was on final clearance!! Live and learn. 😂😂😂

I love the sewing machine overlock stitch. I mostly sew cottons. Luckily I’ve never had to take the stitches out. The only negative is a much slower stitch, like you mentioned.
