If you're new here, welcome! 🩵 We’re Linn and Erik, a Swedish couple in our early 30s who quit our corporate routines in Stockholm, rented out our apartment, and set sail for the Mediterranean with our dachshund, Nora. We started our journey on a 33-foot sailboat from 1980, which we later sold in Germany, briefly stepped up to a Bavaria 37 from 1999, and have now officially upgraded to our dream home: a 45-foot 2016 Beneteau Oceanis where our next chapter begins.

🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 YIKES! Again such a wonderful video. There are so many scenes where my brain is presenting some odd memories. F.e. your opinion in the beginning where Linn stated that behind every corner it seems to be more beautiful. Sailing Sweden I said that behind every rock there is a new surprise waiting.
I was looking for this small Island of Capraia and found out it has the same characteristic as the small Island of Baltrum in front of our coast: some 7km long, 480 inhabitants. Since it does not take long to walk around Baltrum we state: You are Bald Rum (soon around) Baltrum. Same Capraia.
Funny to see you have a new crew member as a rabbit on board: Nora - eating a carrot.
And YES! I'm also trying to escape thunderstorms. They can be disgusting!

I miss my little Doxie, Roscar. He was a great swimmer and diver. I once dropped a rock in about 1 meter of water and unexpectedly he dove to the bottom and brought back up the same rock.

Using the engine for a longer period @ higher revs isn't bad. Most yacht diesels become problematic because they're not used enough/for a long enough period. Sailors tend to switch off the engine before it reaches the operating temperature. I'm more worried about problems when I see an older engine with limited operating hours on the clock than an older engine with a lot of working hours. Using the engine once/week for a 2 - 3 hr period is good for these engines. But you're experienced sailors, so you'll know that already, I'm sure!

Your last reversing into the marina: did you use the bow anchor, or are there lines under water that you can pick up and attach to the bow's cleats? If you encounter these lines: wear gloves when you handle them. (Experienced here...)
